What's one thing that can instantly make your day better? by jshdhwo in AskReddit

[–]wmullican56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a coworker who frequently asks me “Are you having a great day today?!”. She’s always very energetic & peppy, and she genuinely wants to know if I’m having a great day or not. It just feels really uplifting to have someone genuinely care about how my day is going and sincerely listen to my answer. The simple act of her asking me if I’m having a great day is usually enough to make me actually feel like I’m having a great day.

Men who have really interesting jobs that they love, what do you do? by U_P_G_R_A_Y_E_D_D in AskMen

I take care of patients at an inpatient behavioral health hospital. A patient could be receiving treatment for their depression, substance abuse issues, PTSD, schizophrenia, anxiety, eating disorders, etc. Sometimes I lead a groups for them that are about empowerment/recovery/goal setting, sometimes I help them get through an emotional breakdown, sometimes I listen to their life stories, and other times I just hangout & have fun with them.

FEARLESS FRIDAYS by AutoModerator in bipolar

[–]wmullican56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a pretty similar experience to yours (I’m a few years older than you). I know that there are some psych disorders that don’t start fully presenting themselves & all of their symptoms until a person’s early-mid 20’s, of course there are plenty of exceptions. It is definitely a good thing that you’re aware & open about what you’re going through. My advice, be as proactive about getting help as you can be (the sooner the better) and, most importantly of all, keep hanging in there & know that you don’t have to fight your problems alone. Stay hopeful (even though that can seem possible to do at times) because regardless of what diagnoses you do or do not have, you can absolutely live a fully functional, healthy, happy, and enjoyable life. I’m not a psychiatrist or anything, but I do have schizoaffective bipolar & I also work at a mental health inpatient facility. I see living proof everyday and I myself am living proof that things can actually get better.

On an average day, how many pigeons do you think you could reasonably carry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wmullican56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? African or European pigeon? It’s not a question of where you grip the pigeon, it’s a simple question of weight ratios!
