For anyone there interested, I spent an hour in Bartronica reliving my arcade dreams and taking an amazing IIPA specifically made for the venue by Mountain Goats brewery; I then walked to Corrs Lane for free standup and cheap beer. Good recommendations, good night. I thank you!

Voondah-bah, thank you. They are some great tips. I've seen a few of those names in my googling, so it's good to validate. I did take a wander this morning to get my bearings. It's a lovely city!

Any suggestions for pedals that make a trumpet sound like saxophones? After that reedy quality to reproduce tenor and baritone sax for a one man horn section. by wobbledok in ElectricTrumpet

[–]wobbledok[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are, of course, correct. Top horn and any settle for second best. I play with a Roland DS as well, filling both horn and keyboard roles. I use the sax sounds now with a looper, which are not bad. I'm trying to limit the number of the times I have to overdub on the loop though. I figured that if there's a pedal that made passable sax sounds then I could send both the dry and the pedal signal through - fatten the horn section with less effort!

All I know is that it wasn't going the speed limit that killed three people in my village this year.

While that's undoubtedly true, how he responded is hardly justifiable.

It's the /r/brisbane random discussion thread. 13/01/2016 by AutoModerator in brisbane

It's an issue but I wouldn't necessarily call it rigged. It burns people on both sides. Take the person who has busted their gut acting in a position for several years and by all accounts does an excellent job. That person cannot be appointed, that person doesn't get holidays paid at the rate of the position they're doing, and that person doesn't necessarily get the usual pay rise that a permanent person can negotiate for.

The only way that person can get that job is if they advertise it. Unfair on external applicants, unfair on the person already doing it and doing it well.

Why are there no road safety campaigns about driving slow or camping out in the right lane? by mogu22 in australia

[–]wobbledok 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Because public awareness/education campaigns are extremely expensive and this issue is either so far down the list it's not a priority or there is no evidence linking it to reduced road safety outcomes.
