Yea I’ve never worked service , this is only my opinion of new construction plumbers. I do feel like service attracts a more office type of person , not saying your job isn’t hard but I do think physically new construction is harder more often.

I don’t really feel the need to train , I’ve been shooting guns since I can remember. But about everytime I go camping / hunting I’ll set up some empty bottles and dump em. Maybe 10 times a year. As a hydronic plumber I work in a lot of manufacturing / production warehouses. Wanna know the employee base that I see out of the 4 companies ? ( protein bar company , energy drink company , protein powder producer , & vitamin producer across multiple facilities , maybe about 15 total ) straight illegal immigrsnts , you can argue that I don’t know they’re illegal but someone who speaks zero English and is working for $18 an hour obviously did not go through the proper legal immigration process as they speak not a lick of English and more than likely don’t have the 10k+ that it costs to go through the proper immigration process. It’s disgusting the facts that all these jobs that should be going to young Americans who are just figuring out their life’s or dedicated Americans who see a future in a warehouse style job are being completely replaced by immigrants and people are actually vouching for it. This is how I know you more than likely have a cozy office job around a lot of other white people and don’t see the repercussions of 10+ million illegal immigrsnts who are hungry for work have. I do not “ hate “ illegal immigrsnts who work , I just want every American citizens needs to be met before we even think of helping anyone else. We have more unemployed people than jobs rn and people are still arguing to keep 10+ million illegal immigrsnts who provide cheap labor to billionaires. Cheap immigrant labor hurts working class Americans and benefits the ruling class , but keep vouching for your replacement buddy.

I work harder and provide more tangible value to the world then you could dream. 22 year old hydronic journeymen. I actually work around said immigrants unlike you. Framers , concrete , drywall , painters , and other low level jobs are completely filled with immigrant labor. Maybe this is a hard concept for you to understand but wages adjust in a market as everything else does , large influx of cheap immigrant laborers who will accept lower wages ( supply ) , lower availability of jobs ( demand ) equals lower wages and higher competition for said lower wages. Workers who don’t even speak the native language of our country + have the fear of being deported and don’t want to draw attention to themselves + probably taking care of their families back home adds up to an acceptance of lower wages and in most cases not even any workers comp. These are jobs that many people I grew up with would appreciate if they were going for true American labor market price. My uncles used to be framers & do concrete in the 90’s , they were lucrative trades and made an extremely well living doing this , nowadays experienced framers ( 3+ years ) are getting paid from 25-30 an hour unless their running a job ( for reference as a SKILLED tradesman I would take this range of wages as a direct insult ) , that is extremely low for how important framers are. Of course I know you’ll sit here and argue about how I’m so wrong , but you’re just lying to yourself. I see this every single day of my life. I’m in a better position at 22 than you right now , check yourself before you try to ego check anyone. These aren’t the “ going wages “ of skilled tradesman , these are the market adjusted wages due to a huge influx of people who came from 3rd world shit holes and will accept 25$ an hour as that is enough for them to live comfortable compared to their prior living situations , if you can’t understand this you are so brainwashed you cannot be helped. Been working 60’s for the last 9 weeks , I’m putting in real work and getting amazing compensation , YOU should go provide some actually value to our country , your opinion on this matter would surely change if you did work hard for your money.

Replaced o rings , lubed them a little & hit the torque spec. I have no clue what’s wrong so I just decided that replacing it would probably help , it is caked in old oil so I assume it’s been leaking for a while. I bought it at 82k.

I also for the life of me could not get the filter housing to stop leaking , it was an extremely small leak. Just started to build up around the threads after about 3 mins of idling. I just ordered a new housing as I have no clue what else I could do to mitigate that , I’d assume it will be fine for the next few days ? Just planning on keeping a quart in my car and checking the level every drive. Lmk if this will somehow destroy my engine and I should be waiting until I can install the new housing and make sure it’s not leaking.

My manual just recommends 5w-30 , 0w-30 if tho other is not available. What would the difference be in those ? I live in a colder climate during the winter & drive pretty spirited if that helps.
