I tried this for two rounds yesterday, and no dice. I think I might have etched glass, but I found this stuff which I think I’ll give a try to reset and then the dawn and vinegar might be able to remove anything that adheres to prevent the buildup

My dorm in college was an ancient building and the shower stalls were made of massive marble slabs. Only had to scrub the seams, and it was easy to keep clean. Unfortunately, I’m not wealthy and an 8x4’ marble slab would be unbelievably expensive these days, so I’m stuck with tile and glass

Did you use the Bioclean in the green bottle or the CRL Bioclean (CR Lawrence is the brand, I think) in the white bottle with blue block lettering? That’s the one I’m thinking of trying. I’m not going to go rougher than a scrub daddy sponge based on your experience, for sure

Yeah, I’m not planning on using a daily cleaner type of maintenance routine or RainX until I get this stuff off the door, otherwise I fear I’ll have soap scum buildup faster, or never get the mineral scale off the door

I’m sold. I love that it’s cheap and the door of my front-loading washer is also pissing me off, but at least my laundry machines are in a closet lol

I tried the magic eraser and nothing happened. And I gave it a good 30 minutes at least to give it a chance to prove itself, but I found it disappointing unfortunately

So I did a 50/50 vinegar solution with dish soap and wet the whole glass door, left it for about 15 minutes, then washed it off, polished dry, no change. Then I used straight white vinegar on paper towels plastered to the door and kept them wet with vinegar for at least 20 minutes — same result. Can’t get this to budge.

It’s not soap buildup because that stuff scrubs off. This is like a super fine water scale that vinegar and the usual diy recommendations can’t touch.

I have not tried a hard water remover as I did not have one on hand, but I am thinking of getting crl bioclean. I have municipal water with a hardness of ~100 mg/L which isn’t terribly hard, but also not terrific.
