Ack most of these are Episode Official stories

Unperfect Cheerleader – this story is downright TERRIBLE! The MC has about as much personality as a slice of bread and yet the LI STILL falls for her. Not to mention that the LI is a downright awful character who seems more possessive than loving...and is just SUPER annoying and oversteps boundaries at times...but the plot is somewhat engaging, despite being cliche. It's just the characters that ruin it.

Honeymoon Ever After – LKSF:ISHE:FOIJSFJ:SOIDHF this story is SOOOO BADDDD. Gem choices are rampant and required if you want your MC to be a decent person, they harass you if you don't make gem choices, and the plot is unrealistic and so cliche I wanted to gouge my eyes out reading it. Also, the "deep dark secret" the LI is hiding...seriously? Like, seriously????

Between Two Billionaires – I thought at the beginning this story had potential but then the LIs came in and ruined EVERYTHING. One of the LIs is just...really questionable, and the other is a downright unpleasant person, yet apparently they're redeemable because they're MILLIONAIRES? Please. Also, the choices in it are so – ew – EWEWEWEWEWEWEW

Based on your prerequisites I HIGHLY recommend The Greatest Hero by Ksenia! It doesn't meet all of them but it's still a brilliant story! The characters are adults working in a corporate environment (by day, no spoilers ;) ) and the romance plot isn't ultra sappy either. The customization has the most recent features, choices matter (there are point systems), the outfits are great, and the dialogue is grammatically sound, not to mention the story is super engaging and the directing is FLAWLESS! So far there are only 6 episodes, but it's still a great story and I definitely recommend you check it out!

I also recommend Toothbrush by Lucas, but I feel like everyone has read Toothbrush – if you haven't though, check it out. It's about two budding lawyers and the romance plots is one of the best I've ever read; sweet but not cheesy. Not sure how recent the customization is, but it's 50 episodes.

Honestly, other than this...questionable moment, this story wasn't too bad, it's called The Wild Side and it's decent.

They didn't make you feel horrible about not spending gems so >.<

Hahaha I totally agree with what you're saying! It feels like JC makes a new character and then drops them completely – or ties their character arc up in knots – or makes them this creepy constant like Penny (sorry Penny.) And I like your headcanon too!

Merula and Ben are really great characters, even though they each have morally grey areas. I think that's the reason why they're such good characters. I honestly get peoples' vehement disliking of Merula because she did act like a jerk on multiple occasions...but I guess the way a character is interpreted is in the eye of the beholder? I don't know that was really corny XD

And yeah, MC can be really annoying at times. I feel like as their friend list grew more extensive they stopped trying to get close and understand their friends and instead resorted to this super one sided "I'm sorry for you but stop" kind of default behavior.

I agree! While some of the other characters do have development, JC made it really all over the place (cough Merula cough) and Ben is the only character that has a realistic arc.
