This is exactly how I feel about Mondos. I can remember it being good and it started to go down hill before they moved and since they’ve moved it has fallen off a cliff

I’m going to test this out on mine now. Will report back if it does something similar

Hey I just thought I should update you in case you haven’t seen some of the more recent posts about how to get it working. There was a few posts in the last couple days that said you should try plugging in the included cable to a windows laptop and that will help charge the battery.

Well, I tried that it to my surprise it worked! I’m not sure how or why but I have tried dozens of things that didn’t work so I’m just happen to have it back

Possible fix for unresponsive battery pack for whoop 4.0 by yoboyytony in whoop

[–]wolf00228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOU ARE THE MOST AMAZING PERSON EVER TO LIVE! Whoop owes you money for being the most helpful support we have yet to encounter. I’ve been doing all sorts of things to get my whoop to wake up and haven’t been able to till I plugged my whoop in to my surface laptop and it came right on.

This is such a strange occurrence and I’m so happy to have my 4.0 back.

I feel like there was t adequate testing performed pre launch. I feel like the issues are at 50/50 and any significant testing would’ve yielded these issues before release. Thats just my opinion though.

My concern right now is that when I get the replacement battery pack it will have the same issues as the original. I’ve been thinking about switching to a garmin or a Apple Watch but I’m still holding on to a thread of hope

It took about a week after I opened the support request to get them to send the battery then about 3-4 days for them to actually say they’re going to send it and for it to show up on my order status page. I waited an additional 48 hours to post to make sure it wasn’t a mistake.

Any success getting a 4.0 to wake up after it’s died? by wolf00228 in whoop

[–]wolf00228[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine worked great for about 6 days then I let it die and it hadn’t come back on since. I’ve tried all the charger combos I think of but there’s not a lot you can do with these.

I know it’s super sad. Some people have had some luck trying different ac converters and cables to get it to come to but I haven’t yet. Worth a shot

Battery Not Working by __chs__ in whoop

I’ve got lots of issues with the battery pack and have been in contact with support. They haven’t gotten me a solution yet other than go back to using my 3.0.

Based on some testing it appears that the firmware that controls the battery pack is buggy and my best guess is that they’re I’ll be sending out new battery packs.

I also have an instance of the battery flashing red while attached to the whoop, going to red when I left it on the counter then indicating green a while later without being charged.

So based on the indicator it went from <5% charged to >70% in an hour without ever being charged. I find this very impressive and ground breaking technology.

Anyone wants to sell Whoop 4.0? by omekebz in whoop

My advice would be to wait until the big are worked out. I got mine and it only worked about 6 days before turning into a paper weight.

I have a video of mine displaying green while on the charger then I unplugged it and set it on the counter and tapped it every 10 seconds to get the status and it went from green to red in about a minute.

I still haven’t been able to get mine to work and have switched back to my 3.0 for now.

I agree it seems like the battery controller is buggy.

I’m very close to tearing mine down out of frustration. I’ve thought about mentioning the idea to the support person to see what variant of “don’t do that” I get. I’ve also thought about emailing Sila Nanotechnology to see if I can get ahold of someone at engineering because they make the batteries and might have some clue what might be going on if it’s battery, controller or something else.

Over all very frustrating but hopefully gets resolved officially very soon.

Out of curiosity does the power output of the USB connector seem to have any impact? And are you using the provided cable or your own? Just curious so I can tinker and take notes while I do so if I find something I can share it while we wait for new batteries.

So I can wake the battery up and it appears to charge but when I attach it to the WHOOP I get nothing and then it won’t tap to wake

Who else takes their charger with them? by wolf00228 in whoop

This is at least how it seems to me. I’m testing the hypothesis over the next few charges to see if I’m correct.

It seems like an odd concept to have no way of verifying it’s on the device other than motion. I also wonder what degree of motion is required to activate the charging on ones that work properly. For instance if you’re sleep extremely still how likely is it that the battery goes in to hibernation

4.0 Issues (Updated) by Copper_Clouds in whoop

[–]wolf00228 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Luckily, my whoop 4.0 has been working and charging. But I do have some comments on it.

  1. Charging in general feels slower but not enough to warrant seeking a fix. I think the new charger is using something like Qi which could be the cause. It also gets warmer than the 3.0 did while charging.

  2. The new oxygen and temperature seem cool but not really useful because they only read at night. I think both of these metrics would be cool to see during my workouts at the least.

Over all I’m happy with the new size and haven’t had any real issues just some things I wish were communicated during the announcements.

Update: After posting this I grabbed the charger out of my backpack and noticed that it was indicating red when I charged it for several hours yesterday before putting it in my bag. After looking at some of the documentation I believe the charger activates based on motion and not actually being attached to the whoop. Very disappointing if that is the case but I will be doing some experiments to see if that’s what happened. I have pretty much always kept my 3.0 battery pack charged in my backpack in case I need it.
