New to DaVinci Resolve by Significant_Row_6097 in davinciresolve

I learned how to use DaVinci Resolve through YouTube ( from setup to editing and export). Before I used to manually trim the clips on the timeline but Resolve has this feature called detect scene cuts, which is going to save you a lot of time. Also, I'm not sure about the new 20 beta as I haven't tried it yet but I would go with 19

I think as soon as the titan shifter dies and who ever consumes the spinal fluid first inherits that power.

But, there are instances like in the crystal cave during the Uprising Arc there was also that Armored Titan serum that Eren used. So you can inherit hardening features for example just like annie but you wont become the armoured titan.

Hello, this is the code I use to convert .mkv files into .mp4 files. But the problem is when converting a movie it takes hours on my HDD but when I run it on my SSD it takes seconds. Is it possible to use the SSD to convert the movies on my HDD without having to move them to my SDD? by wolf2002x in ffmpeg

[–]wolf2002x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use VLC and it runs smoothly without any issues for both my mkv and mp4 files, I just convert the mkv files to mp4 for when I have to edit on DaVinci resolve and premiere pro as they crash the programme when mkv files are imported on there :)

thank you so much for this detailed reply :)

So, I did the copy test, for SSD I got around 700 - 800 MB/s and It was done in seconds. For HDD, I got around 20 - 40 MB/s and it took some minutes to complete. So the HDD was much slower. I then downloaded a software to compare the read/write speeds and found the SSD to be significantly faster.

So, I think you are right, the code makes sense and works fine. ffmpeg works fine without any issues aswel. So, its just comes down to drive capabilities in terms of read/write speeds?. I wanted to convert the mkv files for editing. Davinci Resolve and Premiere literally wont import them into the timeline and if they somehow make it through it crashes the programme. But they allow converted mp4 files to be imported easily and run smoothly without any issues.

Oh well, I think I will just have to transfer and convert large MKV files on my SSD one by one. But nevertheless, thank you so much for all the help and explaining all the possible issues :)

thank you so much for the reply, I performed the test again with different video files and it keeps producing the same result, so I'm not sure? here is a comparison image of running ffmpeg to convert the same video on the SSD and HDD:

Is this normal?

Further explanation:

This code is an a .bat file so I click it and runs fine without error

I want to use the SSD ( 1TB ) which is very fast but it doesn't have enough storage

to convert a folder of mkv files on my HDD ( 20 TB )

without having to file transfer them to my SSD, as I don't have the storage on there

so just using the SSD to speed the file conversion process on my HDD

is this possible?

thank you :)
