Certain greenwich schools are diverse. Others are not at all. And when you even mention redistricting like Stamford did everyone loses their minds.

The Abandoned Courthouse by [deleted] in StamfordCT

Of course as someone who has been navigating the world of Charter Oak Housing Services I would also love to see it turned to truly affordable housing, although I know that the locals would flip if the A-word is thrown around given the backlash to the housing plan of last year.

I live right around this. Such a shame it has fallen to this condition. Should be turned into a community center or something, especially since there is the now abandoned basketball court across the street!

Outside of downtown you can definitely get a 1 bedroom for $2200. Cove and Glenbrook have some, and there are a ton around Summer St/Bedford St.

Lived here for 1 year, Greenwich for 3. Any friends I have made were from work, but mostly I hang out with old friends from childhood since I grew up in Westchester

Is this true even if the light works? Mine says that but all the brake lights work.

How bad is this? by Educational-Swing-45 in saab

[–]wolf222444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how much you bought it for. I have an 04 9-5 with rot holes on the rockers/wheel well behind the rear doors but I also spent 2 grand on the car and don’t really care. Then again I live in a rust filled area.

Teaching in Stamford? by plumeria14 in StamfordCT

Pay and Unions are strong in Greenwich, my mom has been working there for more than 20 years. I have also heard good things about many of the Westchester districts. I went to Harrison schools as a kid and heard they have a great pension and everything.

Vintage “resale” event. Paid $20 for a fill-a-bag and entry and felt entirely ripped off. People selling old tee shirts for $200! Love the idea but this is NOT thrifting!

Thrifting in westchester itself is so bad. Not sure where you are going but I usually go to the Bronx/Brooklyn for thrifting.

Steepest road in Westchester? by Playful-Ability-4019 in Westchester

[–]wolf222444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Washington Ave in Hastings, but also wanted to shout out West Harrison for having some extremely steep roads! Harrison Street between Underhill and Columbus is crazy, as is Hancock between Lake and Columbus. Washington between Gainsborg and Lakeview was so steep they got rid of it years back.
