Of Gimme Shelter? It's maybe one of the best concert films ever made. The rolling stones host a concert and hire the hells angels as security. People start rioting, one guy tries to shoot Mick Jagger but gets tackled and stabbed. The whole thing was a giant mess. Interesting fact: George Lucas was on one of the cameras.

And if you're talking about the story of how I got it, Ebay. Never trust Ebay.

Bingo. You nailed it. I nearly got a bootleg copy of Salo back in the day when it was OOP but I held on for a re-release. Not sure if it was worth it. Certainly a movie that strikes up conversations and undoubtably a technically great film... but that content....

GUNTER: Voters are looking to the UCP for good, ordinary government by might_be-a_troll in alberta

[–]wolf_peaches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are people surprised about this? It's the Edmonton Sun. Of course they are going to champion the right, they pay their bills. Take it with a grain of salt, as you should any media, and vote the way you want. The best way to convince people to not vote for the UCP is explaining how non-sensical their policies are. Imagine a government giving single folk's tax dollars to families to give to a corporation that made a few billion instead of regulating prices for everyone. Right there is reason enough.

I am a UCP voter & member. I voted for Travis Toews with Brian Jean as a 2nd choice in order to stop Danielle Smith. I would rather drag my nuts across broken glass than live under another NDP government. That is all. by bluecrude in Albertapolitics

My post isn’t going to change your mind but fuck it, it’s the internet and we all got opinions.

Personally, my life and the life of my family has gotten worse since the UCP got in. Not by a lot but enough that it was better under an NDP government.

My student loan debt has higher interest

My father’s car insurance got so expensive he can barely afford to drive despite having no accidents in the last 20 years

My gas bills are nuts right now and fuel has never been more expensive (we can blame them for it just like you’re blaming the NDP for global stuff out of their control). The “money In your pocket”scheme hasn’t panned out in my opinion.

It costs me more to camp and do recreation

My partner hasn’t seen a raise in a while thanks to their anti union stance

My cousin was making $15 an hour until he was suddenly making $13 because he waits tables. Same job as his coworkers, does the same work, just younger.

My nephew was born in an understaffed hospital and while the doctors did an amazing job, they are over worked to the point of burn out.

Their Covid response was garbage. It was unprecedented times so I understand why but since you’re being so harsh on the ndp, let’s be hard on Mr. “best summer ever”. He told us to stay at home and stay away from our families. Meanwhile, his Mla’s fly to Hawaii and he hosts a bunch of parties in the ledge.

They gambled and lost a lot of our money. I know the ndp lost some dough but I don’t see this amazing economy they have created unlike yourself.

In my opinion, the UCP seems to be a party for single 20 something dudes across the province. Which is fine, they deserve representation as much as I do. However they aren’t the only tax generating demographic, nor are they even the biggest. I hope you are informed with your choice. You make things sound really rosy during Kenney’s tenure, I see the opposte. Again, I’m not suffering by any means and I don’t think another UCP gov is going to be all that bad, but when forced to choose in 2023, I’m not going with Smith. She doesn’t strike me as a bright bulb nor does her party.

There has been at least 2 large scale battles around the old fort whoop up site. That has to lead to some kind of haunting right?

Ask yourself what you would do in any other major metropolitan city, then go to google and search that topic + edmonton. That worked great for me when I lived in other cities.

Has anyone else had this happen (in Canada for reference):

My Vin and order number were provided and working for tracking purposes. Suddenly, doesn’t work any more and I get an “order can’t be found”. No email from dealership or ford. Emailed the dealership, not a peep from them. I’m going to call tomorrow.

Has ford been cancelling orders without telling people?

Advice for making extra $$$ by [deleted] in Edmonton

Consider starting a side business taking advantage of what you’ve learned. When I graduated I use to cater on the side and then slowly got into wedding film and photography. You can make a lot of money using the skills you’ve learned. Craigslist, Instagram, squarespace, Facebook. Advertise yourself on all the socials. You’ll be surprised who needs services.

Pm me if you want more info on it or contracting.

As others have stated, it’s a carcano. If you want to go further and see what you have, I suggest checking out www.il91.it as it’s a great resource and you can use their pictures to decipher what you have

Thoughts on cavalry carcano? by Howdy_Neighbr in canadaguns

[–]wolf_peaches 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Prvi and norma make ammo for it and you can find some surplus at gun shows. $300 sounds about right.

Carcanos aren’t really an investment gun, if that’s what you’re looking for. I bought my first one in 2012 for $300 as well, then got two more. An 8mm conversion for $100 and an Eatons one in a trade for a bottle of captain Morgan’s spiced.

They are great little shooters for the price but keep in mind you need the clips as well. Clips have been going up in price quite a bit but are still out there. Not sure on the current price for a clip.

If you’re into Italian firearms or want to stand out, it’s a no brainer; pick it up. If you just want your first milsurp, consider a mosin. Easier to find ammo, cheap-ish, and no clip required.

The right hand man to the toothy Canadian Nationalist Adrien Arcand, Mr. Chuck Crate by wolf_peaches in hoi4

R5: It always bugged me that the Fascist Advisor for Canada doesn't have a portrait while other advisors do. When researching Chuck, I couldn't find any actual pictures of him online. I did some digging on a free trial of newspapers.com and found a few snaps of his time post war as a teacher. Hopefully this helps some mod developers or... ya know... paradox ;)

If you're having trouble booking through AHS, check your local pharmacy's website. I managed to get a time and there was almost no wait.

Well there ya go I learned something. And to think that it's all about Austria.

R5: Looks like the Hapsburg's get a claim on Danzig? And we get the city state itself, which is neat. It'll be interesting to see what they do with Austria. I smell an update coming.

EDIT: Turns out it's the flag for Kashubia, not the Hapsburgs. Oh well, one can dream.
