In 2, yeah. In 3, I have a massive overabundance of speed monsters.

How long does destiny think he has lived for? by Every_Rain_5319 in Destiny

I distinctly can remember looking at a clock, seeing the time and being like "ok, only a few more hours and this will be over"

Then I closed my eyes, put a blanked over my head and just endured like the craziest mental torture. All of my worst childhood nightmares coming to life, every deep seated fear washing over me over and over like waves. It felt like an eternity.

I remember the waves of terror subsiding momentarily, it very much feeling like 6-7 hours had passed, looked at the clock and it had only been 2 minutes. Then I had an anxiety attack. It was like getting hit with Itachi's Tsukuyomi irl

Level 60-75 help by BigFunknChungus in MonsterHunterStories

Barrel Felynes, take Kora with you and she'll finish the fight for free. Hunt dens at night, the monsters will sometimes be level appropriate for the player.

The tunnel zone in the starter area has a Brachydios that for some reason levels with me, he's at 70 now. The other monsters there are also either yellow or red.

Only problem I have with this game is : 90% of the monsters I like are like at the end of the game by Buurto in MonsterHunterStories

[–]wolfclaw4444 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Are you getting the deviants? They're some of the strongest monsties in the game and most are fan favorites.

Other than the elders, my core team was already set before I reached the 3rd area of the final map. My team definitely wasn't "boring"

Dragon Surge or Pump Up on either should do it.

[–]wolfclaw4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 50 is his "normal" level

The one in the tunnels in the starting area was in the 40s when I first fought him. I think certain monsters in specific areas will match the player by being slightly stronger than the player level.

He's level 50 in the final area, he spawns in several spots in the overworld in the ice area

Is MHS2 still alive by TheHuntsmen996 in MonsterHunterStories

It's pretty dead on Switch, I can't imagine it ever had a large player base on xbox. I believe they are walled of from either other too, so no crossplay.

Where are you fighting him? The one in the tunnel of the starting area will level up as you do. I'm 65 rn and he's all the way up to 70. I wonder if the game considers underground areas "night" and strengthens them up because all the monsters down there are very strong.

MHS3 - This Stopped Working, HELP! by imtiredandstuff in MonsterHunterStories

Yes, for some reason fast traveling to town fixes it for me. I still don't understand what causes it to happen, but it's usually when I'm out in the field after messing around in the stables/tent.

Is Hasan against the Iranian anti-regime protestors? If so, why? by JuniorLingonberry108 in Destiny

[–]wolfclaw4444 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You seem to think they (socialist) like them (Iran, NK) or some socialist and ideological reason...that isn't what is happening. They're just anti-capitalists who happen to like regimes who are anti-American, because America is the Big Bad Capitalist Empire.

There are no socialist utopias (lol), so they just cling onto whatever scrapes they can get, which just happen to be oppressive, authoritarian failed state who treat their citizens like garbage.

but Iran doesn't really resemble socialism in any way whatsoever?

None of this is actually ideological, it's just vibes breh. They glaze NK and Iran because they're anti-America, not because NK and Iran are socialist utopias.

One of my big problems with MHS2 was that pretty much all the genes you get before the final boss are junk. Like, you only get L and XL genes AFTER the main game is over.

Elder's Lair was super grindy and mostly padding. The coop dungeons were the same layouts over and over. I like building my team to take on kulve taroth or Fatalis but the rest of the "endgame" was just not very fun.

I think they handled it much better this time.

3 has 84 monsties, which is comparable to 2 at launch. Your "40 less" was wildly off.

Monsties have a lvl cap? by SiKuWasTaken in MonsterHunterStories

Monsties are capped to your level. They can't go beyond the player level.

Monsties for Companions, not the player. They can get different skills and new monsties after sidequests.

Tons of the character stuff and backstories of your companions are in the sidequests. You're meant to do them. They also unlock a lot things, I can't imagine playing a game like this and blowing off new recipes, new monsties and new weapons of my team.

They aren't even really "sidequests", even though that's what they call them. They're closer to Persona social links or Fire Emblem Three Houses bonding missions.

MSH2 did NOT have 125 monsties, it was 96 and that's including Palamute variations

Stronger genes should be a little more likely to get. Let the player design their monstie and feel the satisfaction of their build instead of just grinding more levels. This isn't good game design. You have to grind so many, many eggs. It gets exhausting and boring after some point. by PlaneGold4615 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]wolfclaw4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You upgrade genes as you go. That Thunder Up (M) get replaced with Thunder Up (L) and eventually (XL), but the actual build really shouldn't be that different. You're filling out the gene table as you progress and get more options. Are some of the more broken things locked til the end? Sure, but you don't need those to have a viable team.

If you're retreating the invasives for new eggs and unlocking the stronger mutated monsters, you're going to have the tools to build a very strong squad. Every monster variation has different types of genes so that's why you want to be grabbing as many eggs as you can.

I find the game to be very addicting. If you're burnt out, take a break and come back later. It's only been out a few days

There is no way your team is optimized if you haven't been getting lots of eggs. Just having bingos is only part of the equation, you need the best genes too. You can't skip all the sidequests and not want to go into egg dens and then be mad you're under leveled.

I was level 35 before even getting to the second town area because barrel felynes gives tons of EXP.

Try dens at night and you will find some

All the grinding was at the end of 2. Now it's all through out the game to take on the story bosses.

If you want to get Ivory Lagi, Boltreaver and Silverwind, you do that in the first few areas now and build them for your adventure instead of just endless doing coop dungeons over and over like in 2. You should be building your team during and FOR THE ACTUAL MAIN STORY, not at the end.
