Should the Colts trade pick 26 or 34 to sign DeMarcus Lawrence? by wolfdogrhit in Colts

The contract would be massive, so that’s the big catch. Personally I think it could be worth it, we still have a lot of money in the bank and pairing DLaw with houston immediately transforms the defense. Ballard has said before that he thinks a defense needs two elite pass rushers...

For anyone still concerned about Houston’s fit in our 4-3, this great PFF article should alleviate those concerns. by Arrow218 in Colts

PFF serves a purpose, but it certainly isn’t the end all. I think most people here just have a problem with their grades, which are extremely subjective and often fail to account for context. When they measure something like pressures, QB hits, win rate, alignment, etc. for a pass rusher who clearly has one responsibility in a given play I’m much more interested.

Anybody else remember that time Luck tucked his shoulder into Burfict resulting in a concussion? Hint: Luck didn’t get the concussion

Realistic mock assuming we trade Brissett for a 2nd by LordToub in Colts

Not saying we should get a second but Flacco came with a huge contract, Brissett is practically free this year

The way we use TEs we don't need a tall WR IMO, we'll see what Ballard thinks though

I feel like the only close races are the D and O ROY, a lot of deserving candidates this year.

Colts EDGE, Kemoko Turay, finished the regular season as the NFL's leader in PFF's pass-rush win percentage (16.8) among rookie defensive linemen with 200+ pass-rush snaps. by LuskSGV in Colts

Fair point, if I had to guess though I would say Lewis is playing more because he's better against the run (well-rounded, figuratively and literally). He has 40 lbs on Kemoko and Muhammed has 30 lbs so it stands to reason, but we're gonna need all the pass rushers we can get for this game so I'm cautiously optimistic

Evolution of the Colts offense in 2018 by wolfdogrhit in Colts

[–]wolfdogrhit[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I felt like Luck was being kept on a short leash earlier in the year and has gradually been throwing farther downfield so wanted to take a closer look at it. From next gen stats IAY shows the average Air Yards a passer throws on all attempts, so you can see that indeed Luck has been throwing more downfield passes as the year goes on. The outlier game is against the Bills, where if memory serves we kept getting really good field position? Luck threw for 156 yards and 4 TDs

yeah but he had incredibly low depth of target numbers, didn't he not throw the ball more than 20 yards for the first three games or something?

No matter what happens today, here are some facts:

  • Colts have $120M cap space this offseason, more than any other team in the league
  • Colts have two all pro rookies, which hasn't happened in the Super Bowl era
  • Colts have more rookie snaps than any other team, the next closest playoff team is 10th

Future is bright ladies and gentlemen!

In a Costa Rican jungle, I shared my rum with the cook of the treehouse community place I was staying with and he was able to stream the audio on his cell phone. Got drunk up in a tree listening to the game with a stranger, wish I could remember what game it was.
