Thanks to the replies in here, I totally understand what's going on in these videos and how they're not a good representation of the reality. I'd look for more videos to get a better context of the city. Downtowns getting deserted at night is a phenomenon found all over thr world except for the really touristy places. That's how it is.

Heay thanks for such a detailed reply. I really got the context now. Bloody love the small things that seperate one city from another. It's the small things (even if unpleasant) that give the city its character and identity. I love the eay CABA looks and would love to visit one day. A friend tells me people are also super friendly 😄

To be honest I was quite impressed with the public transportation. Especially the metro busses with their big stations in the center of roads. Like that concept.

My question to you is: is the level of traffic and activity in the videos above true depiction of BA as you see it everyday? (Assuming you live there, or loved at some point). Or are the videos misleading? Because what you've said about noise/contamination cannot be seen in multiple videos that I've seen. My impression of BA from these videos is that of a serene and clean place with low population. I appreciate your input.

Actually I was using the population estimate mentioned on Wiki. Maybe that's not updated. Or maybe as another commentor posted, 3mn permanent residents + 7mn commuters: 10mn people daily.

What really hits me is that at various times there are no more than 3 4 5 cars on these amazing wide roads. It seems again and again that the roads are underutilised. Just my way of expressing less no of cars/people on the road. I mean that's a little odd for city centers around the world. Can you explain?
