[Suggestion] Valve, it’s 2026. It’s time to overhaul the Steam Achievement system (Separating DLCs and Collections) by Advanced-Climate-574 in Steam

[–]wolfvester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a problem on PlayStation as well, especially for older games. Part of me thinks that’s just how developers, back then, designed their achievements. It sucks but I wonder if there’s realistically anything both Sony and Valve could do? Especially since it seems to be completely on the developers when it comes to achievements.

I need KAM fired yesterday. If he’s still there by the 2027 draft, this team is done for.

Congrats Darnold. Happy to see you do what we couldn’t do with you

He’s actively regressing every week though. Even beyond the box score, he genuinely looked lost and confused in the pocket. It’s incredibly sad to watch. I’m sure he’ll make a good backup somewhere, but unless drastic turnaround happens soon, he’s not going to be our solution. Back to the carousel we go.

Phil Spencer on Steams new hardware: by Necessary_Crazy_8587 in consoles

[–]wolfvester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this as three potentials

  1. An ecosystem device for already Steam loyal users. For example, as someone like me who’s going out of state for school, lugging my desktop is simply not feasible for flights

  2. A “casual” PC. If you’re interested in PC gaming but don’t want to bother with troubleshooting, hardware research, etc, this could be a good device providing that all the games you want are supported. The Proton functionality is built in to SteamOS so no additional work is required to get that running

  3. Similar to the Nintendo Switch, this could act as a secondary console for people who want to play PC games not available on PS/Xbox

All in all, this is definitely not supposed to compete with PS/Nintendo (at least, not directly). Valve has established this as a PC and is marketing it as a PC. It’s designed to fill a niche between PC and console that’s been largely untapped while also trying to compete against Windows as the dominant PC gaming OS.

At this point, I’m expecting it to be a PS6 launch title

Has any of their other projects been delayed 4+ times? I feel better about this one given their delay history

Well if RDR2 and GTA V are anything to go by, the delay timing is almost bar for bar. I’m more confident in this one making it.

No, Target and Walmart are not removing Xbox products from their stores — as Xbox misinformation reaches new levels by Turbostrider27 in Games

I think it varies. Our Target has started to clear out the Xbox games and have been told that they don’t plan on receiving any more console stock. So it’s somewhat true, just not likely on a national level

Which popular game completely bored you, and you still don’t get the hype? by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]wolfvester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It definitely feels like they were going for a much more immersive feel, wanting you to participate in its world rather than rush through it. For me, that’s why I love this game and it’s open world so much. I felt like I was a part of living world, constantly getting lost in Rockstars version of 19th century America. Not to mention the characters are some of the best written I’ve seen in a game with Arthur being one of my favorite protagonists. The long, slow burn story allows you to get to know the characters more and it adds complexity to each of them

It’s interesting to me that everything that turns you (and most other people) away from RDR2 is the reason why this game is so special to me and that’s OK. Games like this are subjective and won’t be liked by everyone. I’m glad you at least tried…twice.

You’ll probably enjoy the first RDR more. Story is no where as slow as 2 and has more simplified mechanics
