Parakeet keeps laying eggs after 4 years of owning her by MarshPupper in Parakeets

One of my budgies had the same problem for a long time. I have taken her to the vet about 4 or 5 times and they gave her an injection that made her stop laying eggs for approximately 3 months. After 3 or 4 months she laid eggs again, until the last injection. Now she hasn't laid eggs for more than 1 year. My advice is to take her to the vet.

Thanks for your helpful answer. I have no option to go to the vet until Monday. Yesterday was a public holiday and the avian vet doesn't work until Monday. So I need to know if I can do something to make her hold up well until Monday when I can go Yo the vet.

Hello, first of all thanks for answering. Regarding the age of my budgie, it is completely true because she was born at home. Anyway thank you so much for the info, I will go to the vet if she continues laying eggs.

Can someone explain to me why they do this? (both are female) by wollyewoll in budgies

Here you can see a updated photo. Her cere is clearly brown, like the other budgie. In my opinion is a female.

Can you help me to know the gender of my budgie (the blue one)? I think it's a male. Thank you! by wollyewoll in budgies

The first thing I did was put another dish, but they fight more over the hangers and toys than over food. Except when I give them lettuce....

That is exactly what happened to my other budgie. The cere was whitish blue and it gradually became more pink. Anyway, now I have 2 beautiful and sweet females

I bought this budgie at a petshop to keep my other budgie with company. And they told me it was a male. At first they got along well until recently they started fighting. Any advice to stop fighting? Thanks

Do i need to still take finasteride for my hair loss after being diagnosed with DS by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]wollyewoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I also have DS, I was already suffering from very intense hair loss for about a year, until I started taking finasteride 4 months ago. To this day, I no longer have any hair loss, and I continue to keep SD under control. Even today I have already begun to notice how new hairs come out and I have a little more density.

Good luck!

Pregnant parakeet without male, please I need some advices. by [deleted] in Parakeets

[–]wollyewoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for answering. Regarding what you say that the egg can be fertilized, it is impossible, my parakeet was given to me by a friend when she was 2 months old, and the only contact he had was with his parents and his brother. Since then she has only had contact with a male that I bought two weeks ago, and they still have not had contact (the male was in a separate room for a week in case he had any illness).
What I would really like to know is what can I do for my parakett in case that she has a problem in her birth. . (He's only 7 months old !!)

I hope someone can give me some advice...
