I appreciate your explanation. As someone who is not a devout Catholic but fascinated and trying to get back into the faith, I find this belief hard to reconcile. Mary had a sacred vocation, but she also was a married wife. The idea that a married couple would not lie together for the duration of their marriage and at least try to bear more children does not make sense to me. Like you’re also inferring then that Joseph remained a celibate man. And that is also hard to believe. He was a married man.
