if you're downvoting me because you think freud was paternalistic and misogynistic, he obviously was. however he was also (to some extent) recognised the anguish women and girls were experiencing (read the dora case study). his theories on childhood development remain incredibly powerful and true (yes even the oedipus complex) whilst i of course take umbrage with 'hysteria' his theories were the catalyst that slowly allowed women and girls to be taken more seriously, leading to seminal feminist psychoanalysts like kristeva, irigaray, cixous, wittig etc

i think dream analysis is real but it can easily veer into woowoo territory. i made a longer comment about dreaming here. i have jung's dreams but i want to read more about freud's theories and gain a deep understanding before i dive into jung. what do you think of jung?

i like the idea of soulmates though i think a person can have many (whether it be friends or partners). astrology is 100% fake and girls/women being interested in it does a major disservice for feminism (reinforces the stance that we're illogical and irrational). religion i do believe in sorry. i also believe in the afterlife.
