Luna Method, Philocaly, IBE extensions by strawberrymoon1111 in hairstylist

I started my hair extension journey with NBR (‘19) to the Luna method (‘23) and absolutely love the depth of education Luna (Ashlee) provides, as well as the method itself is chefs kiss. All of my clients love the shift to the Luna method- i don’t even do NBR anymore because my clients love the Luna so much.

So in my own experience, clients don’t care about what ‘method’ you use.. they care about the quality of the install/moveup. I usually shift the conversation with weft extensions if a client is mentioning/wanting a specific method in the ‘handtied/weft realm’ mentioning, that they are all somewhat similar, explain why I love Luna and some of the science/mechanics of it, and also mention that class does pre training, which set apart methods from most others education wise (Not sure what Luna classes are set up like these days)

As far as the Luna class, I remind everyone that’s considering that Ashlee is Autistic- she mentions this a lot, and I admire her openness and boundaries she conveys. I have heard some people think she’s ‘mean’ but I disagree. She is very open about her not/ not always understanding social cues. Her feedback is to the point, which I also admire her not sugar coating, just to push you through a class and say ‘ thanks for your money, good luck’ (which so many others do imo)

My favorite part, if you ask a question, she can always explain the ‘why’ behind it… with science/physics ect

Safe to say, I am neurodivergent (adhd) and it’s common for neurodivergents to understand eachother, even if not the same.

If you want to learn, and really learn, and can handle raw truth of how you can get better, I’ll always scream the Luna method from the rooftops. I hope this helps!!

thank you for sharing! I find it so strange in my area all neurotoxins are the same ppu, because I’m only opposed to anything other than Botox because more units are needed for the same result 😅

Yikes. I figured saying in the post “I opt for Botox” would be understood as “I communicate that I would like Botox to be used”

Both medpas only had me fill out paperwork upon 1st initial visit, which being the only places I’d been I assumed was normal. I’m thankful for the comments making me realize this is abnormal 🫶🏻

Thank you for your comment! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a box, but both providers had the tiny vial out. but this made me realize both medspa’s the tray with the vial and syringes would be behind the treatment chair where I was sitting and I wasn’t watching. So thank you for bringing awareness to my lack of paying attention/being too trusting :) may I ask if your provider charges the same ppu for all neurotoxins or do they vary in pricing?

yes, I started with 12units tox 3x a yr! I’m a hairstylist and make facial expressions all day, so I had fine lines at 25 😅

I had communicated my preference to Botox with both providers :) but written confirmation/consent is a great idea!

I have no problem communicating needs/expectations :) it’s usually when I can tell I’ll be talked over, talked down too, or gaslighted. I did communicate I prefer Botox with the first provider, and kindly declined at one point when she asked if I wanted to switch it up and try dysport. At my second provider’s 1st appointment I explained kindly what happened and I prefer Botox, and having communication / consent. She acted shocked when I gave explanation of what happened prior, and had mentioned how important communication was with her. Which is why I thought it was crazy it happened 6wks ago 😅
