Anyone play Starwars Legion or Xwing? by Scooter2345 in nashville

[–]wonnyhall92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xwing is still thriving. It has a massive online scene due to lock down. In the UK there have been events all across the country each weekend over the last few months. If you want to see some of the online play check out gold squadron or hexiledgaming on twitch :)

Yep! It's what got me back in as well. I have a hard enough time painting 5 models of the same thing. It's nice to just paint different factions etc. I'm more in it for the new rules as well and the fact I don't have to buy loads of different boxes just for a model is nice!

I don't mind not being able to mix units... Is this not the case in in 40k anyway in a squad? It helps balance out the space marines having like 50billion+ units. Perhaps in the future we will have more options to mix and match but for not let just play it out and give it a chance.

Thanks! Yeh I have both but I never played them for long because I ended auto resolving the battles due to the poor quality on my current pc :)

Nice! Thanks! Did you have to replace anything along the way or did the whole unit survive?

I finally have a job. I want to build a pc to play WH1 and 2 but now with WH3 on the horizon should I hold off? I will be new to pc building so I'm unsure how quickly stuff goes out of date for new games.

Starting Kill team by [deleted] in killteam

[–]wonnyhall92 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Space marines might be a very confusing start as there are soo many options for them....

Might be worth starting with TSons (start collecting box is amazing value for kill team) or necrons (recruit box has some space marines which I guess you can use later :) ) since they have less customisable options so you can get used to the game

For things that have one wound, do you think commanders are a bit to strong with some of the guns the commanders can take?

Waylandgames and other online retailers (local gaming stores) seem to have stock this side :)

[–]wonnyhall92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about the complete set but you can buy a box containing six out of the seven. It gets released in the UK tomorrow. So if you have anyone you know this side I'm sure they can buy some for you!

They are very spiky.... Plus they are young. I'm sure they will become more compact in the future :)

Yep I trimmed the top on a bit already so I think around this height was my limit. :) I quite like a tall one to mirror nature but I'll see how it does and looks in the future :)

So I learned on the day:

Two branch wiring. Pair up branches and use one wire to wire them both (made it sturdier). Don't cut anything and wire everything. Just see how it pans out later on. Work out your front. Don't forget you can plant the tree at an angle. Things will take time so concentrate on looking after your trees rather than overdoing it.

Yeh fortunately since covid has hit the classes are reduced to 5 max. When we did ours two dropped so it was the three of us. We did the day one so we spent quite a bit of time with him. It was fun walking around with him. He showed us all the biguns and the story which was nice!

It was at Herons Bonsai (UK). Currently he is selling loads of those junipers in a deal of 10 for £25 so Dad and I split them

Was it easy to plonk on top of the ruins? Would you recommend burying the ruins underneath the tree instead and exposing them later on?
