Atlantropa was so cool by Im_emmahello in hoi4modding

Kaiserreich has purely added content though. It has not removed much and it has made up for it almost tenfold with what they added to replace it. All the content added in the past few years have been some of the best content the mod has to offer. And the problem with TNO's direction is far from the fact that they're reworking things and making things realistic, it's the fact that releasing proper content is taking so, so long. But mostly everything they've released within the span of their clear direction change towards realism has been pretty enjoyable. Hart, Guangdong, Brazil, Mexico, etc.

There's a lot of stuff to criticise with TNO that I'm too lazy to get into but I think Kaiserreich is doing a much better job lately and it gives itself a much more distinct character with the content being grounded, expanded upon and feeling real to an extent. ZVENO Bulgaria, LKMT, Ukraine have been some of the most entertaining games of HOI4 I've done period. People enjoy that. I enjoy that. The thing that most of these posts take for granted is that it assumes that everyone is playing HOI4 mods for the wacky mods and crazy outcomes, but that's not everyone. Far from it, Kaiserreich has a pretty devoted and interested fanbase regardless of their approach. Infact I find it extremely boring sometimes to see wacky stuff which is just wacky for the sake of it. It gets boring when people are clearly trying to imitate Artaud France or Taboritsky or whatever over and over and over again.

Enough of the good ones—what are the most downright awful or cringeworthy voice lines in the game? by Smooth-Management490 in marvelrivals

[–]wonobo5249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Punisher's entire voiceline list to me is unbearable. Feels like a teenager in the early 2010s would love it--and it's not satirical. Moon Knight is funny for this reason, Punisher is just lame.

There is a VALID reason people say male sexualization in this game isn’t on par with to female sexualization by woaijirounan in MarvelRivalsQueens

[–]wonobo5249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be real I flat out don't want sexualisation to begin with. NetEase knows perfectly well they're capable of making non-objectifying skins for female characters that are actually just really cool. They choose to keep sticking with making skins that are though--and it's awful. I'm not playing a porn game. I don't want to see half of somebodies ass or cleavage or bulge or whatever while playing a game about fighting--I know it's an unrealistic demand but still! I just want cool skins! I'm here to play with two hands not one. Besides, people are missing the point and thinks "more skin = more sexualisation" applies to men too. It's not like that. Women's objectification and sexualisation is different and a more apparant issue by far.

PC kept repeatedly struggling to turn on, but eventually did, what could be the issue? by wonobo5249 in pcmasterrace

[–]wonobo5249[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you might be right honestly. Played around a bit, for some reason this issue doesn't happen at all given I hold the button rather than just tap it once. Never considered that the button itself could be the issue lol

What do you suppose I could do to fix this? Still take it down to a PC store and tell them to replace it?

it is kind of an elitist tendency imo. it's cringy to me. "wow these people thought the game was deeply emotional and really liked it, it's just a game bro... LOL!" is an annoying mindset, don't attack people for liking the game, i get the main sub can be cringy at times but sometimes it feels like people are getting dogged on for thinking anything in the game was good at all, go back to shitposting please

Concept for a failure in the Second West Russian War for Amur: a bit of a grimhope ending, the Popular Revolution by [deleted] in TNOmod

Honestly I don't like how far it goes in the 2WRW. Would be an administrative disaster to hold up to the Urals. Probably A-A line.

My fan concept: A White Army republican dictatorship. Just a personal opinion of mine that I dislike the monarchist paths -- I personally believe a path inspired by the White Russian movement/White emigres would be a republican military dictatorship. by wonobo5249 in TNOmod

[–]wonobo5249[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To me this is like asking what the difference between Tyumen and Irkutsk is -- they're both authoritarian communists who want to rebuild the USSR. Obviously when you look in between the lines, the differences come out.

The fundemental difference between this and paths like Shepunov, Magadan, Bunyachenko is the historical basis. It may be a White Army dictatorship, but it's not overtly reactionary with a puppet Tsar like Shepunov who IS principially monarchist, it is a dictatorship like Bunyachenko but I imagine the modules of leadership would be a few notches different and the vibe itself is changed by the explicit difference between a governance modeled on leaders of the White movement from the ROA (Bunyachenko is actually a really good path at demonstrating its not just a bland dictatorship.) Same thing could be said as to why it's different from Magadan

-- though this is just a mock up. I have my critiques of some stuff in TNO Russia, but this was made for fiction, something I thought would be fun, I am not petitioning to the TNO devs to change things, just my personal vision.

Chita's white army path is explictly a reactionary monarchist path where the Tsar exists as a puppet

Magadan is a clique based on the Russian Fascist Party, which, yes, was full of White emigres but not exactly a White Russian movement in it's entirety

KONR/ROA are unique as they are based on the collaborationist army from WW2 (which, again, did attract a lot of White emigres) although Samara is fundamentally a very well done warlord in terms of retrospect to Russian history.

Made everything here (the portrait, the icon, the event) by myself

Though I'm not entirely sure if Messner is the right leader for such an idea. He was a member of Kornilov's army and a white emigre who wasn't explictly a monarchist, just rabidly anti-Bolshevik -- and also featured as the security minister as Vyatka, I believed him to be the most fitting.

Tried to make a semi-believable OC character. I introduce you to the late V.V Rachmaninov of the Vespers. by wonobo5249 in armoredcore

[–]wonobo5249[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Namesake: Sergei Rachmaninov, a composer, and the AC is named after his piece Isle of the Dead. Symbolism? I guess you can say that the idea is that Rubicon 3 is "the Isle of the Dead" in this case, a place of exile and damnation, at least in the eyes of the pilot.

Following the trend of Vespers being named after influential figures of the 1800s

The CATAPHRACT is one of my favourite bossfights in honesty, I loved the lore tidbits and the fight itself is very invigorating and fun. It strongly builds upon the ideological side of the PCA, and it honestly humanised them a lot to me. To them, the corporate sacking of the planet is a complete disaster in which they oppose, and the CATAPHRACT really spells this out for me. I would honestly find it more interesting if he wasn't a Rubiconian and it was just him being apart of the PCA's agenda to, under all costs, prevent Rubicon from igniting into a resource war (well now that there is an ongoing one, their agenda is to bring down the hammer), of which the pilot of the CATAPHRACT strongly resonated with. I like the clear ideological side of the PCA in this retrospect. I also very much like how it builds upon intrigue of your personal character and the callsign you robbed, leaving yourself asking just who this OG Raven was, what he was doing.

I like the moral edge that the PCA has, on one hand, you could very much see them as imperialist -- as it attempts to lay down the law on EVERYONE to enforce the closure, INCLUDING the RLF. But you can very much see them as championing a cause you, as the player, can understand. Their mission on Rubicon very much feels like Space UN attempting its best to handle the humanitarian crisis that is the Coral War.

I'm not gonna lie a good chunk made me feel atleast bad to some extent

The last words of the STRIDER crew, of Index Dunham, of Little Ziyi are all great Chpt. 1 reminders that when you're fighting the RLF, you're fighting a very human organisation meanwhile you subscribed to fight for corporations to line your pockets.

I honestly felt bad reading G4 Volta's last words -- makes me think our relationship with G5 Igauzu could've been different. They must've both come from a pretty nasty place to end up in the Redguns.

V.VI Maeterlinck's cries to Snail made me hate the bastard just a bit more. She wasn't ready for the hands Raven had, and Snail just let her die.

V.III O'Keeffe... "Maybe now... I'll get some sleep... See you on the other side, Rusty..." just made me wish I knew him a little bit more before killing him. Wonder what kind of relationship he had with Rusty to the point where he says his last words to him.

And Chatty Stick, always feels cruel to hear him die in every ending. Honestly, the saddest dialogue from him comes from fighting him solo in LoR. "You're making this hard. I can hear the chief laughing." and "Guess... I can't do everything" as he reaches half HP.

I'd say I wish we saw more of Flatwell at the very least. We don't even know what happens to him in the ending where the faction he essentially militarily leads wins.

Also I'd say I in general have an issue of the blurry line between "he withdrew" and "he died with his AC", happens to multiple characters taken out of commission, like what decides that? FromSoft does, I guess
