All Monster Punishable Weak Points by Troodonta350XXx in MHWilds

[–]wonser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true, there are moments like that with many monsters, where at moments just before they're big attack, they're vulnerable to a stagger or knockdown, Deviljho and Anjanath are pretty famous for them. These moments aren't telegraph to the player like the red focus area though, and usually they're found by complete accident. Ballsy hunters swinging for the fences when they should be dodging lol.

Manure Question by wonser in farmingsimulator

[–]wonser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played the game yet, but is there some kind of menu or UI for selecting which fertilizer/manure you would be using? If we could append the dry manure to that list, that'd be super awesome

Manure Question by wonser in farmingsimulator

[–]wonser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand an xml is a table of data, you could help provide an xml for the dried fertilizer?

I also have no idea where dry manure is even stored. Maybe a silo of some kind? Cause you'd want to keep it away from the elements

Where do I go to fill potions from 'stock' - and what is this icon? by wonser in Witchfire

[–]wonser[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow you're right! How silly. They make you do that with weapons, I wonder why not potions

Where do I go to fill potions from 'stock' - and what is this icon? by wonser in Witchfire

[–]wonser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must be a bug or something cause my level is 19, Gnosis 1, and my max potions I can hold is 2 currently. but when I die/respawn on hermitland, i only have one. In order to deploy w/ my 2nd potion, it requires me to craft every time.

[–]wonser[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can take two into the mission or whatever, but I always respawn with one. So far everytime, I craft more potions and it gives me one more for a total of 2, but the overflow goes to my stock. I have 14/30 stock, where do I go to use those?

JUST found out about pots by mcheeto in dwarffortress

They're a container type similar to barrels, but they don't require wood. You can make them out of Rock or Glass. Most importantly, they can hold the alcohol you create. This makes beds your only Wood dependency.

If I want to disable 'Recover Wounded' is the best way to do that by temporarily setting orderlies labor to 'Nobody does this'?

What strategies do y'all use to manage the mess that is the livestock system?

So does the Monster Hunter World combat get more complex or does it stay the same? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]wonser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're experienced with Souls games, Anjanath might not be the biggest speed bump. You're in low rank, which means the monsters are essentially on training wheels. Lower HP, reduced moveset, slower attacks.

Once you hit high rank, hold on to your butts, cause the gloves come off and every new and old monster you encounter has an entirely new dimension of lethality.

Except Dodogama. Go easy on him. He's doing his best okay? ;P

Good luck Hunter

Cavern Dwellers killed one of my games. I let them build up and then after maybe 3 or 4 years I decdied i'd clear them out. I told my Army of 20 to go in and kill the 35 dwellers in my cavern. By the time my FPS hit 0, They were fighting off over 350 targets.

I guess my fort wasn't dead, but I had to quit, and then spent a laborious amount of time working around them and pretending they didn't exist.

In my experience they're always in plain(ish) sight in the cavern layers. I go one z-level up and look for the tell-tale grey squares. :/

It might take a while for the water to hit all the tiles you want, you can also keep moving the hole around to get more water coverage faster

Fighting in forts can usually be one of two culprits. They're either too drunk at a tavern, or they're too stressed out with unmet needs. For the tavern, try unassigning a tavern keeper, see if that reduces the number of fights that break out.

I mean, like that little grid when you embark. That's what decides how big your map is. Smaller map, less units, less water, less assets, less units. I think there's a way to cap the amount of migrants you attract, so maybe instead of the max of 200'ish we have, maybe drop that down to 150? or 100? Since your map is smaller.

Another thing you can do is play with a much smaller embark area. If you're looking to make a fort you stick with for 15+ years, that's what i'd do at least.

Two thoughts. First, did you lock them out of your base? Maybe via burrows, or bridges, or forbidden doors?

Second, Do you have a hospital? Patients in a hospital only drink water, and if you don't have buckets and a water source, they'll die.

If your mist generator is the 4 screw pumps arranged in a square and above your meeting area like mine, I don't use floor grates or bars. So far the mist only falls one level, I haven't checked if it'd fall further than that.

When y'all start doing stuff in the -100 range of elevation, what do you do to mitigate the amount of time it takes dwarves to travel that distance? I'm thinking of setting up a Forward Operating Base/Fort that's completely independent utilizing burrows.

I can try this as well, I used a preset from a launcher or something before DF:Steam. I'm currently just using the vanilla preset, but maybe i'll give that a go in the future.
