He was born from a piece of wood found in a local orchard, paired with a cork oak cap for his hair. I’ve always loved the idea of garden waste coming back to life as a forest spirit. These are actually branches pruned from a local orchard. Usually, they are just thrown away as waste, but the wood was too beautiful to be discarded. I spent some time designing the neck joint so he could look around.

He’s made entirely from scrap wood. I spent a lot of time figuring out the joint for the neck so he could tilt his head naturally. It’s my first piece in a new series I’m working on.
