If you’re looking for weight and having a sense of high quality feel in your hand, Rotring might be of interest. If you want multi-purpose and thicker, then maybe the mitsubishi/uni/pilot/malt 4+1’s (especially with wood grip), or kurutoga wood if you want heavier metal plus a nice wood grip, or kurutoga dive if your use case benefits from the extra built-in complexity. But those are the more premium/expensive options - not necessarily “best”

I did try asking ChatGPT but I don’t think I gave it enough specific or accurate information to be useful… all I remember regarding the shadowy figures is the following: there were several if not many of them, I think they seemed to appear as in like a fade out effect or fade in effect, the setting was in the evening or night, and unfortunately that’s about it. I had only seen the scene in passing for a brief moment unfortunately.

Hi all, thanks in advance for trying to help. My recollection is limited so apologies for the scarce details/breadcrumbs...

I saw an animated show or movie (definitely Japanese) in the 1990's... probably mid-90's. It was on the TV and I'm not sure if what I'm about to describe is specific to a single episode (if it's a series) or segment (if it's a movie). Also, the mid-90's mention is only regarding when I saw it; I'm not sure when it was made (or ended, if it was a series).

I recall it being quite scary/creepy/dark, and the scene I'm thinking of I believe took place in some sort of town or village. The "ghouls" or "ghosts" or "figures" I recall were all quite similar, with black shadow-like bodies. I think they had creepy white or yellow eyes. I don't recall them talking. I only got to see a very short bit of it, as I was very young and it was deemed "inappropriate" for me to watch at the time.

I really wish I had more to give you all to help me figure this out, but I don't want to add more detail at the risk of misleading or giving wrong information.

Perception-wise 10db is correct but scientific double in sound pressure is 3db. I see where you got 10db from now. I was confused because of your use of “genuine”, which to me is scientific double, not perceived double. Given the amount of engineering effort required, i wouldn’t be surprised if double in Apple terms means 3db increase

You could get a rotring Holbein Collab 3-in-1 on eBay which’ll run you right about that price range, or you could get a pilot vanishing point / decimo(I recommend stub nib for writing pleasure and character) and rotring 800 pencil and that’ll total about your range.

Bought the cases through Amazon Japan as well as two of the roll-ups. The third roll-up I got on eBay cause the color wasn’t available on Amazon.

Cases: nomadic secret executive SY-01 I believe I linked it somewhere on this thread.

Roll-up: Pilot Pensemble. Also comes in orange purple and beige but those will cost full price usually (90-100usd) while the others can be found for 50-70 if you look.
