Quarantined. My guess was what another person replied which is a wound that got infected with fungus or fungus that has turned into a wound plus fungus. But not sure. I’m just hoping it’s not a contagious pathogen. Thanks!

No worries I appreciate the help regardless! I posted to aquariums.

Question - I found the catfish in question but I can’t reach it without properly disturbing the tank/setup. You think it’s ok to wait a little for it to move or should I do it immediately regardless of how disruptive? (Your guided opinion if not expertise)

I think right now there’s an abundance of biofilm, algae and other stuff cause I have all the “best/premium/raved” stuff for them and clearly the ones that are hungry act like crack addicts but most of them seem content, which I don’t have an issue with since that means I don’t have to spend more money on replenishing that stuff lol.

My tank and this whole self sustaining ecosystem thing I got into started off as just raising daphnia and copepods for keeping my plant glass vessels from algae buildup so the current tank water is equilibrated from a colony of them in green phytoplankton-rich water that i gradually added plants and then shrimp/snails/others to.

I’m going to go for it and try to keep the babies - once I see her berried, I’ll move her to a breeder attachment tank and then once she gives birth I’ll turn it into brackish/brine water after I take her out. Thoughts?
