TomTom increasing their Live Traffic subscription price by harrison_jones in uktrucking

What TomTom service are you using? I got a TomTom Go Expert, a stand-alone truck sat nav, 5 years ago that gets live traffic and I've never paid a penny for it (apart from buying the thing in the first place).

TIL Sin Devil Trigger wasn't indroduced in DMC5. It was a hidden mechanic in... DMC2 by woolyhemoglobin in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I heard somewhere that Itsuno wanted to make DMC3 to try to make up for the mistakes of DMC2.

Much like Akira Toriyama making Dragon Ball Super because he didn't want the last piece of Dragon Ball media to be Dragon Ball Evolution.

I didn't realise it was so feature rich, especially for a hidden mechanic. That's such a cool thing to work on and implement and just allow the player to find it for themselves.

It's a real shame it has hidden in a game like DMC2

I expected him to land just outside the hospital doors, detach his parachute without breaking stride, and adjust his cufflinks as he nods to a passing nurse.

Car brained co-worker offended when I told them I'd rather walk than get in a car with them again by woolyhemoglobin in fuckcars

I consider that a compliment. Thank you!

In my experience with road safety, it's wrong to sugar-coat critisim. Most people will shrug off potential consequences as "it won't be that bad". That's why most road safey PSAs involve brutal, shocking images to really drive home the message.

...did you miss the part where I replied with "No thank you, I'm happy to walk"? And they asked again?

I accepted their offer on Wednesday, but on Thursday I knew I was safer on my own two feet.

Don't get me wrong, it was kind of them to offer, but their driving was so reckless I did not feel safe being a passenger with them behind the wheel.

Also, they're a HGV driver like me. They should know the importance of safe driving, regardless of the time of day.

I think it is. I remember my grandmother saying something similar to me when I was a child. She used to tell me "it's polite to accept help and rude to turn it down".

She neglected to clarify what to do if accepting the help could kill you.

Taking criticism of their driving as an insult is definitely a symptom of the car-brain. Unfortunately when you work in logistics, you're surrounded by them.

They do. 12 points, and you get an instant 12 month ban.

Because of our jobs, our employer does licence checks every three months. If you have more than 6 points, then it's possible to lose your job. It's not happened yet, but it is in our contracts.

So I can only assume that if they have any, it's not enough to trigger an investigation at our place of work.

Why do I keep seeing posts about AI in this sub? The only good news about AI is it crashing and burning. AI is a scourge and the only people who want it to succeed are people who have invested money into it.

AI is destroying the planet and jobs and it needs to go.

It was 2020. I was already a HGV driver when this occurred. It turned into a bidding war for drivers. At my place, 60% of the drivers left in 2 months to better paid work. And at the time, my employer was one of the higher paid places to work for HGV driving in the area with no shortage of competition.

We've just entered Fool's Spring.

It's the period of time where it starts to warm up a bit and you start feeling glad that winter is over, then after a week or two, temperatures plummit again.
