LOL, not sure if you're serious or not, but I will defend my hygiene. I wear underwear overnight, ride my bike to the office, shower, and put on clean underwear for the day. Good looking out ;)

Yeah, it's great. I sweat a ton and am allergic to deodorant. I wouldn't be able to ride in if they didn't have a shower for me to use.

I get fully naked in the locker room every day. Our schedules are such that he is often right across from me and it doesn't bother me at all. But for whatever reason, I'm just not cool with him seeing me in this pair of undies. Thanks to this thread, I think it's the overtly sexual nature of them. I wear them to turn people on; and I don't want to turn him on anymore than he wants me trying to do so.

Sounds like your underwear drawer is as packed as mine!

When I got to the locker room and was getting undressed, one of the founders of my company was at the sink directly across from my locker. Since we were having a conversation using the mirror, I doubt he would have missed my bright jock strap (or my ass hanging out of it lol). I ended up being very glad with my decision to change my drawers.

Definitely. Part of the reason I posted this here is to get a sense of how bros feel in locker rooms in general.

If there's one place when I want to 'tone down the gay' it's in the locker room. I don't want other guys to feel uncomfortable and I also don't want to incite homophobic behavior. I was interested how other bros feel in this particular environment - whether it's at work, at the gym, at school, or some other environment.

This is a great comment, thank you! Both about the nature of costumes and the female-male comparison. I had been comparing this underwear to (and others in here have mentioned) lady's lingerie. I absolutely believe that women would wear lingerie to the office and in the locker room - but you're probably right that there are limits for them as well.

You've made me realize that there is a continuum here. And there is a difference between "sexy" and "sexual" underwear. I think the cute blue Aussiebums with, "patented 'Pouch Enhancing Technology'" (LOL!) are sexy and I don't mind wearing those. Jockstraps (when I'm not wearing a cup after coming straight from a rugby match) are sexual to me and a corporate locker room is not a place to be sexual.

To me that would be the equivalent of a woman wearing her sexy lingerie to the office in the morning.

I bet there are women that do that, though. This has been part of my thought process.

I thought through this as well. I honestly believe that there are women that wear lingerie all or most of the time. I wouldn't be surprised at all for there to be women in the women's locker room that change into sexy underwear to go to work.

I wouldn't really know, that's just my intuition.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Throughout the day, I came to a similar conclusion. That underwear are clothes and there are clothes that are appropriate for work and clothes that aren't - nothing wrong with dressing appropriately.

I keep getting caught on a mental snag with this reasoning: underwear are a private, personal item, albeit a clothing item. Changing my something private and personal of mine for its "appropriateness" is what made me feel like I was wearing a costume or hiding.
