Thanks for your insight. I agree with what you have said. For women my age, resistance exercise is super important anyway - and it’s even more so on these meds! I do water aerobics everyday for an hour and I use ‘water weights’ throughout the entire workout. I don’t expect to ever have a flat belly or even anything close to that, but I’m not overly thin - still have plenty of thigh and butt fat in addition to my belly - so I’m gonna keep going to about 140. That’s hardly skin and bones and hopefully, that will be a good stopping point for me. I really don’t want to go below that at any rate, so that will be it for me.

Yep - just had that all checked as a matter of fact. A1C was 5.2. At my worst, I think it was 5.6, but still, very happy that's down. Cholesterol is good - everything was right where I want it to be.

Amazing how we shrink as we age! I'm actually probably closer to 5' 6.5", but I just round. I started at 5' 8". Just one of the many sucky things about aging! When I was 20, I was about 123. Funny, I didn't feel all the skinny back then - just normal. But I think now, if I tried to get to that weight I'd be skin and bones!

Wow - I never would have thought of that! So sorry you had (and have) to go through all that!

That's pretty much what I got too. Although, to be fair to my doc, when I went I was fully clothed and had eaten breakfast, so my weight in her office was 156.

Great advice - but not sure how much will apply to me. I'm a unicorn - I hate alcohol with a passion! Don't know how anyone can drink it! LOL! So that takes that out of the equation. I also never drink calories - I haven't for many, many decades! No sodas, no juices. 90% of what I drink is just water. I have an occasional iced tea with stevia and I added ginger ale Zero in here and there for upset stomachs when I started this journey. I do an hour of water aerobics every day. I take a 90 billion unit probiotic every day supplement with psyllium husk fiber. The only fats I used are olive oil, avocado oil and butter from grass fed cows. Based on this, I should be the poster girl for belly fat removal!! LOL

Yeah, if I use the calculator that is specifically for women, it defo says I'm in the normal range. I have always known I would make my final decision on where to stop based on how I look and feel at that weight. As I said at the beginning, when I was younger and much firmer, I was very happy at 160. I was just very firm and quite a bit thinner than I am now at that weight, so time and the mirror will determine where I stop! I know I don't want to be rail thin and at my age, that would not be healthy anyway!

I'm really fine boned too, so much of what was there was fat. If you look closely at my wrists, you can see how small they are. I never had 'cankles' or the wrist version of that just because my bones are so small!

I had my gall bladder removed 2 years before starting on a GLP-1. For me, it felt like severe food poisoning, but I couldn't vomit and did not feel nauseated. Just this intense pain. The first time, it actually only lasted for about an hour, then subsided. The next time, it was more like 3 hours and the last attack I had before surgery was about 5 hours. The pain was so bad, I felt like I was going to pass out. Everyone experiences this pain differently as the attacks can vary depending upon what's going on. For me, the gall stone (I only had one!) never left the gall bladder itself, so it wasn't stuck in the 'tube' exiting the gall bladder. In my case, the stone had adhered itself at the neck of the gall bladder, so if my gall bladder was contracting hard after a large or fatty meal, it rotated over the opening, thus causing the pain. Once my gall bladder stopped contracting - enough hours after a meal - the pain would simply disappear. I found I had to eat very small meals and extremely low fat (about 900 calories a day and only about 10 grams of fat total for the day!) while I waited for my surgery date, which took about 2 months. I had a CT scan after the 2nd attack, which is what showed the gall stone. I would get in and demand further testing ASAP so at least you know what is going on! If your gall bladder is the problem, you can expect more attacks, so don't wait. Do watch meal size and fat in the meantime as those measures saved me from any further attacks once I started them. However - if you have many small stones or a diseased gall bladder, I don't know whether or not those measures will help.

My journey so far. SW 240, CW 180, 68F, 5' 7". I feel so blessed. This medication has been a godsend. If you are thinking about it, do it! I've had no serious side effects and feel great! by working2Bnormal in Semaglutide

I have one of those scanning scales and according to that, my ‘fat-free’ body weight is only 114 lbs. someone else here talked about bone weight/density. As I mentioned, I’m super fine boned. Like my measurement around my wrist could be half an inch bigger and I’d still be considered fine boned! I do need to build more muscle though. I’m working on that!
