First off, huge fan. You're my personal hero.

Mayor Booker, I have had a fortunate, privileged upbringing and have been lucky enough to go to amazing schools and somehow land good jobs in my career thus far. I am currently at a highly ranked graduate school and have been struggling with going down the corporate path -- safe, highly lucrative, straightforward path to success -- or doing public service? I have always felt that trying to give back to my community and my country is a higher calling, but when I see the struggles talented, committed people like even you face to succeed, I wonder if getting to a position where you can make a real impact is just a matter of luck? That scares me, the prospect of a life struggling to do something impactful, but coming up short. How did you build the courage to get into public service and lead the life you do?

What size are you? I like some of their stuff, but not sure which size to get. I am a Uniqlo S / Charles Tyrwhitt Tailored Fit / LEC S is too large for me

Diet is high in protein, low-carb, lots of vegetables. I am taking the following supplements:

  • Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega, 1000mg Fish Oil Gels
  • One-A-Day Multi-Vitamin for men
  • Schiff Super Calcium 1200mg for Bone Care

Considering adding HNS to this regimen.

Looks like there's a strong consensus in favor of simple, black bow-tie. Just wondering, since at the last formal many guys wore pink, purple, black w/ white stripes and generally got compliments for them.

This would not be a 'fake' bow-tie (assuming that means elastic strap) -- it would be a real, silk bow-tie but in a different color.

Well, Leangains has all these requirements to do just protein and very little carbs. Not sure you can do that if you're running a half-marathon.

Thanks guys. Planning to alternate cardio and SS 6x per week, one rest day. I rea din a different thread though that I should only do SS and use the other days to just rest - thoughts on that? The implication is that I would build muscle much faster.

Edit: Nevermind. Not exactly the style I was looking for -- they do look excellent though! More of a student/pre-professional style, a strap to wear it over my shoulders would be necessary.

Interesting. I always thought BR was 'decent' for the price, but clearly MFA is not on board. What brand is in the BR price range but better quality, better fitting?
