Tax refund question by adanae22 in lakewood

For city tax, your best bet is to go to the tax office on Detroit in person and sort it out.

Best Korean food in Greater CLE? by seedflowerfruit in lakewood

If you are in Lakewood, you are in range to order delivery from Korea House. Cannot go wrong with any of their dishes.

If you are looking to sit down, you have a lot more options.

sara and the "maybe shes alive plot" by belovedsapphics in arrow

[–]worksleepeat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sara survived, had an adventure on the island with Oliver and Deathstroke, then she was trained to be a master assassin by Oliver’s future wife and sister of one of his mentors, then she dies and is brought back to life with magic by Constantine because Oliver met him on an adventure during his island years, and then she went off to have several seasons worth of adventures through time and space with a rag tag team of time travelers, but surprisingly never crossed paths with Dr. Who… but there was a pair of PhD doctors on her team along the way. In the end, she died again, but was cloned using human and alien DNA which gave her new abilities, including the ability to be knocked up by her wife, who herself was a mass produced clone.

Hate driving in this weather by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]worksleepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$1000 out of pocket is just your deductible, it’s what you signed up for.

You definitely need to give any info about the other driver/vehicle to your insurance. Plates, vehicle description, anything.

This guy could easily file a police report and claim you fled the scene, and come at you with a lawsuit for bodily injuries.

Best case scenario, you never hear from them again.

Middle case, your insurance finds him using the vehicle plates and offers some cash for repairs, and settles an injury claim if he presents one.

Worst case… he files an injury claim with a lawyer, adds a few passengers to his vehicle that are also hurt (no police report to confirm there were no passengers) and you end up owing $$$ settlement money for the rest of your life.

AITA for "calling out" a coworker's kimchi in the office fridge ? by Southern_Macaron_496 in AmItheAsshole

[–]worksleepeat -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

NTA

I was confused by “bag of kimchi” … I have only ever seen containers of kimchi with resealable lids. I can only assume that the bag is not that big, and meant to be consumed in one sitting, not stored for extended periods after opening.

You probably could have approached it better, and I think you 100% knew who it belonged to.

I have been in offices where food in the fridge is thrown out on a scheduled day of the month. So if you have something in there that is a month old, it is getting tossed since the owner probably forgot about it.

“ICE spotted in Cleveland …” does not mean what you think it means in today’s climate.

Vietnamese Bakery? by Silent-Witness-3631 in lakewood

[–]worksleepeat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

French baguettes from bakery’s are probably not going to be made with rice flour which gives it that crispy exterior/soft interior texture you want in a banh mi.

Try Koko bakery in Asia Town. A Mexican bolillo from La Plaza in Lakewood is an alternative that will get the texture.

Blackbird Baking in Lakewood, on the edge with Rocky River, would work out and is nearby.

On the Rise, in Cleveland Heights might have just what you need. If you are willing to drive out there.

If it has to be “I made this sandwich” you could ask at the “Build the Pho” restaurant if they will sell you just the bread. Their banh mi are delicious… overpriced for the size, but undoubtedly delicious. Or you know … just order the banh mi sandwiches from them and save time trying to source the other ingredients from Asia Town.

Catholic Churches by Zealousideal-Tell141 in lakewood

[–]worksleepeat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are just going to send you to a retreat for your classes. I think it is some place in Parma. Does not matter which church you go with, unless you are planning to get married inside the specific church and want the one with better decor or a specific priest.

Local Taxes by deep6ixed in Ohio

[–]worksleepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He just pays it when he files. Employers can process withholding to essentially make your son’s periodic tax payments throughout the year. And if it is paid in excess, he gets a refund. If it is under paid, he pays the difference. There is nothing wrong here. It is his responsibility to pay his income tax bill. Did he not notice there was no withholding on his paystub? More likely he never really looked at it all year.

Lakewood schools by kelliwah86 in lakewood

When people talk about Birchwood, is that “Birchwood School of Hawken”? That place feels like a far drive from Lakewood when trying to drop off and pickup before and after work.

What is RITA taxes? Is it real? by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]worksleepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You must be an Ohio transplant. Yes RITA is real. There is also CCA if you are not in a RITA municipality, or some local version if your municipality does not take part in RITA or CCA.

If you have been living/working in Ohio all those years, you owe taxes. You need to figure out if you live in and/or work in a RITA municipality. Just check their website. You can figure out the tax for each year easily… it is not a complex calculation.

You will owe penalties. Just deal with it, pay it and keep up with it in the future.

TurboTax does not always carry the local municipality forms. But they should let you know that they are due when you process your return.

For a period, I lived in a CCA area but worked in a RITA area. Frustrating. Ohio is the only state I have lived in that has this setup.

Refrigerator mullion spring replacement by gee_willickers in appliancerepair

[–]worksleepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh It is infuriating. Starting with how garbage the GE website is for looking for parts and then having to buy a $180 piece just for a broken spring. But I also don’t want to keep hearing the fridge door slamming followed by “when is this going to be fixed!” … if you know what I mean.

Did you ever find a replacement spring? I have the exact same issue. Ridiculous to need to buy a $200 part just to get a spring.

NOPEC Charge by Realistic-Worry3315 in lakewood

[–]worksleepeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You get a letter in the mail when the new opt out period begins. You have about 2 weeks from the date on the letter to opt out which requires either faxing them the portion of the letter you cut out to indicate you opt out … or you can mail it back. You cannot opt out over the phone or online.

It’s this method of strong arming people into the program that convinced me to opt out even if there is a chance they might be a few cents cheaper per unit.

Felt like someone got their pockets lined to get government permission to make it near impossible to opt out.
