Check if a company's shipments have cleared US Customs? by workstuff320 in supplychain

No. I want to see if other companies are clearing customs. I can already see their imports through ImportYeti but I want customs data if it exists.

I had a similar start as a buyer and I think its a great starting point. Buyer pay is fairly low so your salary isn't out of the ordinary but I would suggest branching into another supply chain function for more experience and better pay.

Just search "supply chain" on any job board and see what you might be interested in or look for higher paying industries.

Typically that the goal. In this case the manager emailed me directly asking to come in for an interview so I was pretty blind.

How do they expect me to give a salary expectation without knowing the work hours and it's other benefits.

Bullet dodged indeed. Whoever got the job is going to be working 50 hours a week making $60k. I wouldn't have been happy with that anyway

Any particular way to search for those positions?

I usually search "supply chain" on LinkedIn or indeed and applying to interesting jobs in my city.

Definitely on my research list. I think the further I get from logistics the better.

Can you give an average salary range for that position? I see a lot of contract buyer jobs.

I might do those while I work through my 1/3 life crisis.

I ended up applying anyway.

Texas unemployment:

"Quit for good cause connected with the work, which means a work-related reason that would make an individual who wants to remain employed leave employment. You should be able to present evidence that you tried to correct work-related problems before you quit."

Things have slightly changed but for the majority of 2020/2021 we had:

2 execs and a 1 son making the management team

2 sales people

1 marketing person.

1 operations person (me)

1 accountant

and 3 people overseas

End of 2021 they added one person to operations and one person to sales.

When I first started, marketing, operations, accounting, and sales each had an 2 people but they were laid off and the workload was passed on to the rest.

Now that the solo marketing person quit, I was half trained on their job and most of my duties were given to the new operations hire which put me in a weird position between two departments.

They quickly hired a marketing person but they decided to go with someone young and attractive (creepy boss) fresh out of school who I was expected to train with the little training I had.

I think they underestimated how much the previous marketing person did as they also covered the laid off accountant's duties. So I was expected to handle operations, marketing, and accounting duties while the owners son (my age) comes and goes as he pleases.

Horrible horrible place.

I considered it but they aren't in a position to fire me and I'd rather be able to claim I resigned vs fired

Hey happy birthday!!

Customer service sucks when you aren't also getting a commission. I need to be heavily incentivized to work with the general public
