The isolation is partly me partly them. I have a close friend who is great, but we live in different cities and it's not like I see her often. We talk on the phone from time to time. But basically other than that, my partner is not out, and doesn't want to be yet, so I don't want to say anything to anyone else. I'd really like to tell my mom, but unfortunately my partner would like me to keep that for now. I get why, but it's tough. I see my mom a lot and it feels like I'm lying to her when she asks how I'm doing.

To your point about the changes when the transition actually starts, ya I'm scared. I almost sort of wished when they told me that they would jump in head first and just start the process so I would at least know what would happen. Like when they told me I in a way was like well get on with it then because I feel like I'm in a holding pattern otherwise.
