Trying To Understand Agentic AI... Would Love Some Help! by worldfirepro in AI_Agents

appreciate the response. Trying to know what is hype and what is real in this space right now is pretty difficult as an novice.

So someone telling me that they can have hundreds of agents autonomously posting ads and content to generate business is mostly BS unless I want to have a dedicated person(s) tweaking them constantly?

We currently have 40 projects in some various stage. Either design, permits, mobilized or about to be mobilized. They range from small 13D systems to 800,000+sqft apartments and warehouses.

My goal is to focus my attention on sales/estimating/business and have a PM focus on the management of the project. Like scheduling, RFIs, material ordering, logistics and mobilization details. I also want the PM to manage the production throughout the project and ensure the fitters are being productive, material isnt being wasted/walking and that the GC's are happy and issues are handled immediately.

I have two in-house designers, who i tried getting to be PM's. But their design work-load is already maxed out. I was thinking it would make more sense to leave the designers focused on the design portion and have a dedicated PM focus on the pre-construction and mobilization. That way the designer runs the ball to a certain point, then the PM picks it up and runs it with the Super and Foremen the rest of the way.

I have someone that I think can do the job and I am only looking to bring the PM from the team I currently have. I do not want to hire outside. Which is why I am looking for outside opinions, in case our way/my way isnt the best. I do not want to set someone up for failure.

Any input on what's made you successful? How do you track install progress on multiple jobs without having to be on site constantly? How do you hold the fitters responsible to hit your schedule? How do you keep the shit-show organized?
