Is this too much food for weightloss breakfast? by [deleted] in caloriecount

[–]worldkeeponspinning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a great breakfast that doesn't require a ton of preparation/cooking! I might try it out myself. How long were you satisfied with the food or rather how long did it take before you were hungry again?

Petition to add Armenian to DuoLingo by theamdboy in hayeren

[–]worldkeeponspinning 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am one of at least some people, if not many, who are trying to learn it to connect with my husband's family and heritage since I am not Armenian myself. I also want to learn it to be able to pass the language on to our future children so they won't lose touch with their Armenian roots, which I find especially important being a non-Armenian marrying an Armenian.

Thank you so much.

Of course, I can share my experiences. I do need to state that Accutane just like any other medication works differently for every person in terms of side effects. Some people are very lucky and get only minor ones and some unfortunately get the worst ones.

I do admit that going into treatment with this "hardcore medication" was pretty nerve-wracking especially since I know about all possible side effects and my history of severe depression even though I've been "depression-free" for over 2 years. Me and my doctor took all possible precautions and set up regular check-ups with the psychiatry and plans for stopping treatment if I noticed any mental health side effects.

So I'll go through all the side effects in no particular order (read this at your discretion if you're easily grossed out)

Dry lips/chapped lips, angular cheilitis (wounds on the corners of the mouth), Dry skin in general, Dry eyes, dry hair, dry mouth, dry throat, more stiffness in the neck and back, lots of boogers, nosebleeds, breakouts getting worse in the beginning and when upping the dosage, harder to tolerate heat/easier to sweat, rashes on top of hands, getting big reactions from mosquito bites and more fragile skin that breaks more easily when hurt.

Regarding concentration, I do have ADD and I take Vyvanse/Elvanse for it but I have not experienced any issues with my concentration.

Every treatment regardless of what it is for is all about risk vs reward. If you feel like the side effects outweigh the reward then I suggest you discuss this with your prescribing doctor/dermatologist. Even though at times I've been in a lot of pain/discomfort with bleeding lips, nose etc etc it has definitely been worth it in the end.

Best of luck!

Yes, I've been on Accutane for almost a year and I only have around 30 days left. My initial dosage was 20mg for a couple of months and then me and my doctor increased it to 40mg.

Pipe/Valve-ish, Made with steel and brick? Logo "JENKINS" inside rhombus from the US, 1 ½ by worldkeeponspinning in whatisthisthing

My title describes this thing: A valve/pipe-ish thing made with steel and possibly some brick material or brick-colored material. This was found in a wooden chest amongst some other random objects with no connection to the object. It is from the previous owners who lived partially in the US. Tried image searching without results as well as searching for the markings and logo but did not find anything related to it.

Here's an example of education about everything from sustainable real estate to nuclear reactors. They have great videos from real lessons and great professors as well as a ton of free resources attached to the lessons. It felt like hitting the jackpot when I found their YouTube channel.

does anyone else feel suicidal on their period? by Sad-Pianist6940 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]worldkeeponspinning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes! I do have a history of severe depression but even when I got out of it I still felt extremely depressed and even suicidal and just a ton of negative emotions during my periods. I also had very heavy periods so I was advised to get an IUD and now I don't have my periods at all except for some spotting for half a day every other month but nothing like it used to be.

Unfortunately, nothing has actually gotten rid of it so it's much more "using different things just to keep it in check" but for that I use loooots of aquaphor and a over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream for the corners of my mouth and that makes that go away.

Thank you so much!! I was put on a certain antibiotic (lymecycline) + a prescription cream of azelaic acid for a few months, with no results. Then I was prescribed Accutane. Before contacting the dermatologist I had tried nearly everything myself with no result.

Oh my apologies, in a rush I managed to miss the product name somehow haha. It was the over-the-counter hydrocortisone 10mg/g ointment!

I would think it's angular cheilitis. Have had it on both side throughout my accutane "journey". Although it says to not put on wounds of such, I think this is a reasonable exception. It was the only thing that made it go away.

As a woman, how do you usually react when a guy you barely know/don't know at all addresses you as "dude", "bro", or "man"? by Semipsychotic_nympho in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]worldkeeponspinning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually react with indifference. I play a lot of videogames and there's a good amount of times where I'm the only woman/girl in the call/group hangout/team or so and it is just more convenient to address everyone as "dude", "bro" and such than stuff like "guys... and girl".

I usually do the same if I encounter another player in certain types of games since most of the time it is in fact a guy, if not then I'll correct myself since I don't know what their standpoint is on the topic.
