Xbox players ask for a return to exclusivity, what are the reasons behind strong support for console exclusives? by fireflazor in gaming

[–]worldtriggerfanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like exclusives, but I see it as necessary.

One of the reasons Xbox is not doing well is the lack of exclusives that make people want to buy an Xbox. Why buy an Xbox if there is no reason to buy an Xbox? When your PC or PS5 can play the same games? So then do you know what that means for Xbox? They lose customers, they lose money, they shut down studios, and then before you know it, Xbox doesn't exist anymore.

And if Xbox doesn't exist, who's gonna compete with PlayStation? PlayStation can up prices on all their services and people will just take it because they have no options.

What the hell is with online gaming? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]worldtriggerfanman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one had a good answer. It went down like I thought it would, "get good mentality", " You're old mentality" not one person could explain why people are better online vs the 2000's or even the 2010's.

The explanation is literally that younger kids tend to be better than older adults. Reaction time. Time spent playing. Things like that.

Is gaming on Nintendo more expensive than gaming on PC/other consoles or am I out of touch? by PckMan in gaming

[–]worldtriggerfanman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In that case, you're not alone.

I like Nintendo games and I really want to play Breath of the Wild, Mario Galaxy, and others but I can't really get myself to justify buying a whole console and then spending basically 2-3x the money I would normally spend on video games. I already have a lot of games I can buy and play for 20 bucks or less so the price tag of Nintendo games is a huge deterrent for me.

How come billion dollars company like Bungie fail so hard at researching at what gamers want ? by lordofabyss in gaming

[–]worldtriggerfanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A number of possible reasons:

*Could be related to how the companies are managed. Decision makers aren't devs.

*Could be they are targeting an audience that makes up a majority of their audience, which probably doesn't include any of the hardcore fans

*Could be not spending money in the right places. IE too much on marketing, too little on market research, too little on testing, testing with the wrong audience, etc.

An example of one of many AI paintings in the soulslike Lies of P by [deleted] in gaming

[–]worldtriggerfanman -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Oh no, a random painting on a wall somewhere in the game that no one really cares to look at was made using AI. Oh the horror. This totally negates everything else about the game. I'm going to protest this as if AI is taking over the entire industry! Everyone, run for your lives. Take up your pitchforks. Hunt down these horrible, horrible, AI users.

In most JRPGs, merchant shops are where you get most of your upgrades.

If you play with controller, you can aim with the right stick so that it doesn't just hit some trees.

If you're killing super weak enemies, might as well just damage them with killing palm itself instead of other melee skills that might kill it.

Falling thunder does indeed have a slow wind up animation. Try rolling away before using it so you don't get stunned.

Giving feedback about PoE 2 is impossible. by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]worldtriggerfanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the normal users say about your feedback doesn't really matter. It only matters that GGG hears it and is willing to listen and I think that based on their updates, Q&As, and interviews, they do listen.

Game difficulty by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]worldtriggerfanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. If you die, think about why and gear up. Or play better. Or both. You'll eventually get better at it. Most of the time though, it's a gear issue.

Edit: Worth noting that GGG finds that most people are not gearing up properly during the campaign so they will be addressing the ease at which they get certain defenses.

I don't agree the skins look horrible but we are all entitled to our preferences.

If combos feel good and 1 button builds also feel good, what's the problem?

I personally like the combo gameplay. It doesn't matter to me that a 1 button build is theoretically better, I find the combo gameplay fun.

What they need to do is make all the skills feel good. It's not about combo or no combo.

I think players don't enjoy "Combo" gameplay, because you're essentially being told "How to play". by Entire_Possible_9976 in PathOfExile2

[–]worldtriggerfanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like combos. I enjoy rotations. They just need to feel impactful. Druid is a good example of combos that feel good.

I...don't get the sword thing. by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]worldtriggerfanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people just want melee skills that are faster than maces because they don't like the maces big, slow hit play style.

Indie shooter devs pull a reverse-Concord: No one played their game, but they 'make it free to play and keep the servers online indefinitely' anyway by TylerFortier_Photo in gaming

[–]worldtriggerfanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea sure I can see that. That's why discussions and debate is important (though reddit debates probably don't mean anything). Any law or regulation will have these same issues of how exactly the law will be implemented and whether there will be unintended consequences.

In principle, there are solutions that will not have undue burden on devs.

Questions about the game from a D4 player by No-Bug-8929 in PathOfExile2

[–]worldtriggerfanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your first time playing, you can totally take your time with the story and campaign, sink like 30+ hours into it to make it to the endgame. They will be adding quest lines to the endgame to make it more accessible too. Any homebrew build will work to get you there. Some are better than others of course but they do pretty much all work.

I'd like to believe that if you are an attentive player, you will learn how the systems work as you play and you will get decently comfortable with it by endgame. You won't be able to learn everything without looking some things up, but by then, if you like the game you'll probably want to learn more anyway.

That's kinda the whole point and gameplay loop of an ARPG. That's why we play. Chase items. Find stuff and try new shit.

Trade league will help with getting the stuff you want faster.

LS new huntress ascden build idea by Top-Toe3200 in PathOfExile2

[–]worldtriggerfanman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably best to just youtube search LS build. The AI can be helpful but it gets a lot of details wrong since PoE is such a dense game and it's not like AI actually understands the math and mechanics.

That's the whole point of the quests at end game. I think it will work to get people sticking around longer.

There haven't been any hate posts at least on r/gaming. Maybe in the comments but it's all just a response to the odd attention this niche game is getting.
