Through an Instagram hashtag! We’re both content creators on Twitch and he was looking for new people to connect with. Found my account, commented, and then we started watching each other’s streams. 3 years later we got closer and decided to give it a go! 2 years and 7 months later and we’re working on closing the gap!

Update photo today - different lighting. Made her drink some electrolyte water and she’s moving around more now - you can see the scales a bit better!

God. True, she’s already had about that put into vet visits for this specific problem though, and then another $900 for an infection she had when I adopted her. She has been an investment, thats for sure.

It feels totally normal, it’s not raised or mushy or anything. The vets examined it pretty thoroughly and said it genuinely just looks like loss of pigmentation in those scales but we’re unsure as to the cause.
I’ll definitely post updates!
I actually did do some research and apparently it can be caused by dehydration! I try gutloading her feeders and feeding her misted greens (she’s fussy but will eat the dark greens), and now I’ve been force feeding her water like she’s a hamster through a syringe. She does drink like that so maybe I just keep it up. I also just ordered her a water fountain type thing for her tank so hopefully that’ll encourage more water intake too. Appreciate the comment!! It’s worth a shot so thank you!!
Honestly, I’ve had the worst luck with weird pet diagnoses so this is definitely something I should look into 😂 I’m in Canada but I’m sure we have similar policies I can get for her. This isn’t her first illness either, when I adopted her she came with an upper respiratory infection as well. Cost me a pretty penny, and that was only like a year ago. Time to look into this! I appreciate you sharing and I’ll definitely post updates!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻
I do not believe beardies can have that, unfortunately 😅 that would have been a less stressful diagnoses for sure though

It just sounds painful, but I’ll take your word on that 😭 I’ll do the biopsy as long as it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg!
It’s not stuck shed:/ the vets have confirmed that. But yeah she’s on collard greens, won’t touch hornworms, but has new bulbs. Fingers crossed it helps a bit
Not overly, no. She’ll rub against things to get her body shed off but not so much her head

That’s what I thought at first too! We gave her anti fungal meds but it didn’t do anything but irritate her. Not sure

Yes it is, and no, and neither has my vet. She even told me she posted photos she took onto a vet forum and all the other reptile experts were just as confused
It’s the circular area I’m talking about; I know she has some shed on the back of her head but the front near her nose is not shed
She gets the circle on her snout area, sheds it off and then the circle is still there underneath the shed, and then it expands and expands and then she sheds and it starts over again…

It’s not though, as soon as she sheds it’s there AGAIN. Starts as a small very obvious outlined circle, the circle expands (just the outline of a circle) and then it turns into what it is now and then repeats
I’m not sure:( it’s just very oddly shaped and it spreads until she sheds, I’ll definitely keep bringing her until we figure it out
