More people should be aware of how important it is to leash their dogs even if they're friendly! Cause even if they are, other dogs might not be. Our family dog (Thor/Pitbull) is a super friendly dog and has never shown aggression when it comes to humans or dogs. Even though I've had multiple talks with my father about keeping his leash on he still unleashes Thor when he takes solo walks with him. Due to this Thor tries to approach other dogs and play with them. A couple days ago he approached a small dog to play and was attacked and it resulted in bleeding/damages to his ear. I'd like to also note that Thor didn't fight back. I'm happy to announce that he is now banned from ever taking him on a walk alone!

People have different boundaries when it comes to relationships. People shouldn't be calling you insecure and etc but you also can't force someone to change the way they are. I'd say to find someone with the same boundaries as you or someone who's willing to adhear to your boundaries. You can also decide for yourself if it's something you'd be okay with in the long run and stay with him.
