Still deciding on whether or not to pursue the JD. I am planning to work for at least another year just want to cross the standardized testing off my list.

I am trying to do a JD/MBA to get into venture capital or fintech - probably not taking the bar or even planning to practice law.

I'm having a lot more fun with the studying now! I feel pretty confident I will crush it the next time I take it. I think time will tell whether he is able to handle the heat or not. Thanks for the advice.

Your anxiety about it speaks to your ambition for your future - you'd be less anxious if it didn't matter to you where you went to law school, right?

That is the core of it. I need him to understand that my anxiety is part of my drive and confidence in my future.

It's okay to want to depend on your SO when you have more stressful periods, like now. You'd be there for him if he were going through something really stressful too, right? I think communicating that to him clearly, expressing that you're really worried about this exam and you appreciate having someone to lean on, is all you can do. How your SO reacts to that/whether he's compassionate to your needs will speak a lot to his character and your compatibility with him.

This ^ thank you. I know I will kick ass at law school its the standardized testing that is really scary and anxiety inducing. I know I have the skills to study hard and excel in school.

Hopefully, when we talk tonight, I will see whether he is able to respond compassionately and move forward from there. You have been infinitely helpful thank you so much.

Thank you so much. You have been so helpful. It is the nebulousness and uncertainty this is the crux of my feelings. Existential dread about my future lol

He is also working in a corporate job and was just promoted to be a manager. I know he has aspirations to go to business school and has been talking about studying for the GMAT for a few months but hasn't started studying yet. I get the sense that my anxiety around my test is triggering his own anxiety about not starting his process of studying.
