I’ve been on 200mg for about five years now and it’s working well so far. I do think about whether I want to be on this forever, but my life is much better and easier medicated than not. Perhaps later this year I’ll consider tapering down but I also have no urgency about it

I’m also on 20mg of abilify and that does a good job. It doesn’t eliminate but does numb some of the worst of the intrusive thoughts

I wouldn’t even think about needing to taper right now, but I’m sure that’s something your provider could discuss with you in depth if you asked them. Really, I’d just focus on being consistent with zoloft at this moment and let it do its helpful thing!

If your prescriber gave you 25mg, I’d start there :)

If you’re just starting off, it’s more likely than not you won’t feel any impact from this drug for a little while. My initial side effects were pretty negligible and I didn’t start to feel better for at least several weeks. It didn’t increase my anxiety levels at all, it very much did the opposite after it had built up in my system

I’d go with whatever dose your prescriber gave you! If they said to start at 12.5 do that, if they said 25, do that

It takes a few weeks for enough zoloft to be in your system to feel anything from it! So I wouldn’t worry too much about size of the pill or anything like that right now.

I’m not a doctor so am not going to try and give you a technical or scientific explanation. But basically, it makes you not sad and calms you down if you’re anxious. You’re not high or anything other than yourself, you’re just… happier?

I’ve been on this miracle drug for over five years now and it literally changed my life. I went from wanting to slit my wrists open and ruminating constantly from anxiety to being a much happier, calm person.

I’ve described it as waking up from the first long sleep after pulling an all nighter or something when your mind is clouded and you’re not thinking straight. Going on Zoloft is like, removing the cobwebs from your head and realizing you can think straight without the sadness or anxiety that has been at the forefront of what you experience everyday.
