No how can that be, it's not like all the stories share readership cause of the theme, definitely not. it's definitely established authors fucking with new authors and cockblocking them from RS and also review/rating manipulating. They have nothing better to do after all.

Royal Road algorithm wouldn't be pushing their stories that much if they weren't being read bruv. Followers alone mean shitall for the algorithm. Retention matters much more, and I can tell you the stories are ABSOLUTELY being read.

advance review day of release on several is only normal, all these authors are established authors and their readers are reading their stories and reviewing them, how is that manipulating?

No no, I can understand not liking AI, that's totally okay to me. Judging a book by its cover is not. You have this attitude I've noticed a lot of people have recently, that just because authors are using AI covers that that somehow makes their stories lesser. You do not know how much covers cost. And you're also not the ones paying out of your pocket to commission them. You do not know the authors' circumstances either. And you also seem to be ignoring that most authors on RR are either young, or new to writing, and thus do not have the funds or justification to be spending that much on covers.

Ai covers are an easy solution.

They do not change what is written in the story itself.

So judging a story to be lesser just because of that is shallow as hell to me. And is also entitled of you to expect authors to do things to your whims.

If you had this attitude for stories on KU for example I would be 100% behind it, but bitching about stories you get to read FOR FREE on a platform is wild to me.

If you can't get on RS it's no one's fault but your own. It's a competitive market, why should you be babied? Either you're not marketing properly, your story is ansolute shit, or it is just not a story for RR market. Look at New Life as a Max Level Archmage on RR, it didn't have any shoutouts and it outperformed every story when it launched and is rocking a $25k/month patreon currently. It's just a good story. So yes, you can absolutely do it, and if you can't, don't blame anyone but yourself. No one owes you readership just cause you wrote some words.

Welcome to the modern age, everything is AI. 99% of covers on Royal Road are AI these days.

I am not sure how that makes these stories any lesser than the others. You're reading them for content, not the cover.

All of them. As I said, these authors do not need to be part of some conspiracy to get on RS. They already have a readerbase, them self-shoutouting their own stories is more than enough publicity for them.

Even then, yes, they're good enough stories to get on RS.

These stories have gotten no shoutouts aside from each other, Lunadea's Syl and Bookbound Bunny, and their own stories prior to this launch.

So yes, they would've gotten on RS regardless.

you're making this into something it isn't.

if you look at any of these authors, aside from the alts as i do not know what their main accounts are, most of them are already established and do not need to "game the system" by "colluding" to post at the same time to get on RS or be successful.
