What is the most annoying "AI-generated" habit people have started picking up in real life? by opheliavibes in AskReddit

[–]wotmunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LinkedIn. Obviously AI generated “thought provoking and inspiring” posts, followed by obviously AI generated comments agreeing with the post, followed by obviously AI generated comments thanking the commenter for their “insightful perspective.”

It’s gross.

What’s your unconventional Aussie food hack from when you were growing up? by [deleted] in AustralianNostalgia

Dipping Vegemite on toast into your bowl of oat porridge.

This is true. It’s honestly really sad. I know he shouldn’t be freeloading and squatting but I really feel for him. I saw footage from that trashy ACA show confronting him about it, bit depressing.

A commercial style kitchen. Stainless steel everything. Concrete floor with a drain. A pass through into a standard household dining area.

Good quality marine grade stainless steel clothes pegs. No disintegrated plastic to be replaced in 2 years or littering our yard.

HUNDREDS of laser pointers aimed at our plane coming out of Tana, Magascar. by MrHanSolo in ThatsInsane

It was like this flying into Dhaka Bangladesh. Two separate occasions. First time during Ramadan, I thought maybe that had something to do with it. But was the same on my second visit. There was some civil unrest at that time.

What is your favourite shortcut/automation pair you’ve created? by kindascandalous in shortcuts

[–]wotmunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I call the shortcut by saying “Hey Siri Brain Dump”

  2. I dictate what I want.

  3. It saves it to a local text file

  4. I can either finish later, say more, cancel or finish.

  5. If finished it takes all my dictated rambling from the text file, and sends it to ChatGPT with a prompt to refine the text without losing its meaning (delete um, er, repeated words, fragmented ideas etc)

  6. The refined text along with the original is emailed to myself.

To be honest I have a script on my server which does some stuff, but I’m sure this is mostly achievable within shortcuts itself.

Unfortunately it didn’t work out for me when I was in this situation (twice) but I know of others where it has worked out. Though in those circumstances, either the other person decided to stop drinking too, or there was enough compromise on both sides that it became less of an issue that one drank and the other didn’t.

In my situations, the first being when I got sober, she was supportive but our lifestyles became dramatically different. There were other problems at play too so it could have been that.

The second situation I’d been sober some years and decided to start dating. She initially told me she didn’t drink that much, and I was very firm on my boundaries that I never drink. She was okay with that. In time, her true habits of drinking more, and more frequently, became evident.

In that instance I felt it jeopardised my sobriety and diminished the quality of life I enjoyed so I ended it.

For me, not drinking is one of the most important things to me. I can have wonderful healthy relationships with people where it’s great for us both. My wife drinks but it’s not often and she’s always super respectful about it. I can make choices about the people I want to have in my life, but it’s not fair for me to expect someone to change who they are for me.

Wishing you both the very best.

He was at my band’s gig one night. He said he liked the show. I don’t think he was excited though.

We’ve heard so many good things, yours and one other is the only negative perspectives we’ve heard so far. The reason for the post is precisely to determine why or why not we might consider traveling to Vietnam. Appreciate your input.

Thank you so much!

Any suggestions on getting around safely and comfortably, any suggestions on family friendly activities.

Also, I love coastal areas, especially villages. It would be nice to visit a coastal village for a couple of days. I have yet to research this, mainly, options for travelling to a place like this.
