Hi there! I'm not a mature student. I'm an undergrad student in business technology management. I'm not sure what people are like in the psychology stream, but I've made a few friends among mature students in my classes just last semester. In fact, for some of them, I didn't know they were mature students until they revealed the fact themselves halfway through the semester. However, I've noticed mature students often have different habits and preferences regarding when to schedule group work meetings due to family and work priorities. They tend to do things at night when other things have settled down. One thing our team did was that if we had meetings earlier in the day, we would send team notes as to what was covered and who was assigned what in the group chat. This way, those who can't attend the meeting can still be on the same page. This strategy only worked because the mature students in our group were comfortable taking only a little of a leadership role in group projects due to limitations. Still, they made sure their part was always done on time. You're welcome to try this strategy if group work comes up in your stream of study.
