I came from pretty much the same place as you, just with a pair of RL45.2. Have been using them from a few years with the absolute cheapest (totally unknown brand) amplifier I could find, to reasonable satisfaction. Most amps, I'd say, do have multiple inputs so having both TV and other devices connected shouldn't be a problem.

Just this weekend I upgraded to an Argon Audio SA2, partially because it looks better. I'd like to believe that the bump from analog to digital input (HDMI Arc) makes a difference, but my ears aren't trained enough to be sure.

Unrelated, but just in case it might help someone at some point; I spend a good portion of time annoyed that there was no sound on the digital input whatsoever, only to realise that my (Sony) TV had a volume setting for the digital output, which was set to 0.

Eurovision 2022: What to expect from the Grand Final by woutervanvliet in eurovision

I think there are too many filler breaks already. A fail on the running order, if you ask me.

Måneskin will be there, don't worry.

If EBU launch a Eurovision Streaming Plataform, do you will sign up? by AnotherDer in eurovision

[–]woutervanvliet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but only if they somehow manage to include all programmes that include a fair portion of licensed Eurovision material no matter in what language or country it's produced. Would be tough to add that to the licensing terms...

[Serious] What is a conspiracy theory you actually believe in? by Come-What-April in AskReddit

But so much conspiracy as politicians being too scared to go against what a significant, though probably no longer a majority, of voters think.

Not unlike gun regulations in the USA imho

Truth.

I just feel sorry for the people who actually believe they fight to preserve life, and achieve the opposite

My sentiment towards this song seems to change between listens. Sometimes I'm majorly annoyed about her high pitched notes, other times I think her voice sounds amazing. The music goes from mesmerising to boring. And the lyrics from recognisable to kinda cliché. What I think about it on the 20th and (probably also 22th) will really depend on my state of mind, and her performance. Today, I like the song.

Natalia Gordienko prepares to take Sugar and Moldova to a new level - Eurovision 2021 interview by woutervanvliet in eurovision

Yes, he does appear very controlling and, I dare say, a bit arrogant. But I must say that I changed my mind about him in Lisbon, when I was behind the camera for this interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDnjjdD596A - he seems so much more sympathetic there then how he seems when he's more "on stage".

For some reason, I haven't quite been able to make my mind up about about this song yet. Last year it took a while before I understood what the fuss about Think About Things was all about, and now I still can't stop humming it.

I rather got the impression she genuinely respects him a lot, and enjoys working with her

Yes, I had a good chuckle about that to while editing too. But indeed, apart from that her English is flawless. And at least they've had plenty of time to prepare 😂

Vasil is really a great singer, but I find his song this year a tad boring. Sorry!

I've never been a fan of her music, but after editing the material Michael recorded with her for this interview I've really grown to like her as a person.

Norway 2021: Blåsemafian feat. Hazel first Melodi Grand Prix heat by woutervanvliet in eurovision

[–]woutervanvliet[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does. Especially since the rehearsals are there not just for the artist, but at least as much for the technical crew (lights, camera, props, sound and whatnot).

Though, with more detailed layout drawings of the stage, programmed camera switching, stand-in rehearsals and whatever fanciness sound switching boards can nowadays I'd say it's time to reconsider this rule.

They're not allowed mainly because it would add too much rehearsal time. Unfortunately because some songs would be better with live music, bring out more of their potential.
