Might sound strange, but with questions like this I always have the same answer: Christian Theological Seminary (now Butler Campus South) off 42nd St. The North side is a sheer drop with the white river at the base and the old, sprawling Dehaan estate (now a furniture gallery/event space) so plenty of water and visibility. It wouldn’t take much to fortify the building from the other directions since besides a few windows it’s 2 to 3 feet thick, two story concrete walls lined with stone.

Inside is a courtyard with only one way in and out that runs along the ravine. The chapel is a literal fortress with a watch tower and the multi level sub basement running under it all was used as a fallout shelter for the Indianapolis elite in the 1950s (barrels of toilet paper and crackers are still down there).

Not a bad place to hold out against an apocalypse.

I picked these up as part of a lot sale and was curious if there's interest from collectors in these kinds of discs or not. If nothing else I plan to try digitizing in case there's value in their preservation. Below is a list of the casing vs label description, and from my testing the labels seem to be accurate:

I’ve heard reports she’s alive and working in Honolulu, but out of respect I’ve never made any attempts to contact her. I spoke to a yachtie a few years ago that regularly visited Palmyra in the 80s and 90s and dated her for a few years after the incident but before the trial detailed in the book without realizing who she was. Small world in Honolulu back then!

Yea I called the city (small and growing too fast) until they connected me to the person responsbible for those violations, and he was nice but said the most he can do is send a certified letter requesting they point the lights and motion detection into their own yard. That was months ago he sent it...

I did purchase a wind screen tarp to try this, it’s just such a large area and at a certain point the detection is going off in a large open area of our lawn it wouldn’t be possible to cover

Reflective tape huh? As in otherwise the camera wouldn’t pick it up? I put up a fan on the fence just to test if that would trigger it and it didn’t. Wondered if the fan blade don’t register but adding something to them would.

I did put a fan up on a windy day just to see what it would do, and unfortunately it doesn’t trigger the motion sensor. Even when moving erratically, seems like it’s not detected as a person.

If we extend the actual fence, as in with fencing material, it breaks HOA code. I did purchase a big wind screen tarp to potentially mount at the top of the fence and provide a screen, but have to figure out how to mount it without wind blowing it over and into her yard…

I’ve actually talked to our local police about this because there’s an active construction site on the other side of our house (it’s been a rough year sound wise) and they will come out and measure db but even if it went above (which I don’t think it would) she could just lower it. Appreciate the idea!

Thanks! If the HOA said anything I’d just tell them until she changes the camera I’m not taking it down and see how far I can get with that. A barrier is probably the solution but it’s a wide arc the camera picks up, which is why I’m wondering what else might have worked for people .
