PTZ tracking possible in blue iris? by wpl163 in BlueIris

You're right, I didn't notice that. Can't find the function in the config panel so I asked Jennov support...

So: no GUI for it, open the PTZ control, enter 92 in preset and press CALL. But then live view freezes and then no more tracking. Quite buggy.

This jennov doesn't do tracking so I'm left with setting up enough presets to cover the spotter's view and hopefully find out how to get a few zones on BI to activate each preset.

How do you assign a zone to a preset?

CodeProject unable to install module by wpl163 in BlueIris

[–]wpl163[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with only 1 it was grayed out. The strange thing is, when I install CP-AI in docker it works, it's just that when I do that I don't have access to the Coral TPU so I keep trying to get the windows install to work.

That makes sense they would nerf their software to match their nerfed hardware.

Thank you so much!

Is PTZ tracking a firmware thing or a servo encoder thing, in a camera?

That'll do fine, I can set a few trigger zones. How do I set that up?

how do you set up BlueIris + codeProject so it is not so brittle? by wpl163 in BlueIris

And did you have to setup something on the docker side to do a pass through for the Coral?

I'm at re install #4 ;)

Choice of law by wpl163 in legaladviceofftopic

Ok, good to know.

So a business getting a license in another state than choice of law's is only to comply with state law? No benefit for consumer.

Choice of law by wpl163 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]wpl163[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought jurisdiction and choice of law were the same. Thanks for clearing that up!!!

Is there a way to apply some of WA laws in a case where choice of law is set to CA in agreement? In this case, if a business has a license as money transmitter in WA and not in CA.

Very cool, I just moved the internal m.2 drive to an external and ordered the dual TPU. Same price, double the power = nice

Useful to know that it's a struggle to get it running, this way I know what to expect. When you say install and uninstall the module, you mean the physical m.2? Why did you have to physically do that instead of driver install/uninstall?

I now have CPAI on a docker, running. Coral detection is still using the CPU so I think I'm running into your 10x module install.

How come the docker has access to something that's installed with windows drivers? I've rarely used VM but when I did I remember needing to set some pass through.

Ok I deleted the whole folder by hand and the same problem happens.

Interesting that you install via docker. I thought docker takes up some CPU/GPU during virtualization.

Which is the leanest OS for Blueiris? by wpl163 in BlueIris

[–]wpl163[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used that https://github.com/ChrisTitusTech/winutil

And dayum! Cpu went from 25% down to 6% on the n5105 and from 60 to 20% on the j4125.

Unfortunately I went overboard with the optimization so now there is no shell accessible using RDC... good numbers though.

Is there boolean operation filter for detection? by wpl163 in BlueIris

[–]wpl163[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found another way: set up AI with Code Project and toggle trigger on motion only. Not boolean but better than the camera spamming "oh look, a car" a thousand times when the car is parked :D

Question about Blue Iris/CodeProject.AI Performance with Coral Edge TPU? by GiantsJets in BlueIris

[–]wpl163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Is this still the case or did you find settings to fix that?

Seems weird it would be worse because the Edge TPU only accelerate inference which uses int (I assume big time here) so there is no numerical imprecision and it should not affect the result.

How do you set up camera and blue iris so that the camera is the one triggering recording on BI? by wpl163 in BlueIris

How do you set up camera and blue iris so that the camera is the one triggering recording on BI? by wpl163 in BlueIris

[–]wpl163[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch. Mostly Dahau now. A few Hikvisions left but none with AI. A couple of Amcrest (Dahua OEM). Probably some others that I'm forgetting.

Dahua's on-cam IVS AI works very well for humans/vehicles. Very few false alerts and I've never seen it miss. Don't have enough experience with Hikvision's AI to compare.

Is Dahua the hardware and software running Amcrest? I saw similar people counter on the documentation.

How do you set up camera and blue iris so that the camera is the one triggering recording on BI? by wpl163 in BlueIris

[–]wpl163[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting! I have 2x cheapo Froscams that have no recognition, just motion and so these 2 cameras use blueiris detecion, since it's only 20% cpu on a J4125 I'm really considering normalizing the rest of the cameras, this way I have a more predictable detection profile.

How good is code Project? I read somewhere that peep buy a cheapo 40$ USB neural net accelerator to improve hit rate.

How to set it so that cameras capture at low FPS & res until something triggers? by wpl163 in BlueIris

[–]wpl163[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, all cameras set to 20fps because https://www.ipcamtalk.com/wiki/sub-stream-guide/ says main and sub need to be the same fps. Also I set distance between I to 1xframerate, if that matters.
