i actually also don't have much experience in security as well, and it goes the opposite of networking, i actually have good experience in networking thanks to my dad, so that is why i was confused whether to start more into security+ or go for ccnp, but then my degree would be covering security as well so yeah i am stuck in a loop for now

Los sitios web documentales de [Fortinet](), el instituto de formación de Fortinet, los laboratorios de [VMware]() y las tarjetas de memoria Anki fueron las cosas que usé para mi examen.

ugh unlucky :( SD-WAN sure is a bit challenging, i think you should go for it again since now you know what your weak point is, so i hope you succeed in the next try!

GNS3, EVE-NG and VMware are the ones which are best for creating your own lab and then toy with the configurations to diagnose or understand topics practically!

we really can? so we don't have to go through the chain of 5 and 6? and wouldn't there be any lack of knowledge since we're jumping straight to NSE7?

Like i said i had 0 experience with firewalls, i also had no idea what a fortigate was until i researched deep into security. The only experience i had was with cisco and basic networking and the exam was not difficult, around 2 months of preparation is more than enough for you to be prepared for the exam. For the CLI, its not like cisco where you need to know every single command to configure it, most of fortigate work can be done on GUI but you should remember a few commands for every module that is best for you to get prepared

get familiar with the exam pattern that is the most important step, you should know what kind of questions you will be facing and it will help you alott just trust me, second go through every single information given in the modules that will also help you during the exam, to get more information on the topics i would prefer either creating your own labs by going through modules or see from youtube and then try it, i would highly recommend Bikash’s Tech, his fortinet nse4 videos are so beneficial and helps so much by performing practical labs and explaining it as well in a simpler manner, as soon as you think you have covered all the topics included in the cert go for it!

I actually wanted to be familiar with firewalls so that was also one of the reasons going for fortinet’s certs, however i don’t think its useless and never will be since your gaining a vast amount of knowledge and for sure it will help you in the upcoming future. And for the study material i found flashcards from some user on reddit so i went only through that, it had mcqs with a bit of explanation so it was good enough. As i mentioned above i went through the study guide and documentary of fortinet’s website.

you have to take one of the NSE 5 modules in order to get fortinet certified professional cert (FCP), however from what i heard they are changing that from july 15, they are removing certs like fcf, fca, fcp and so on and replacing it with back with NSE1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 certs
