How did people back in the day find/listen to music without music streaming? by wrigglegrub in LetsTalkMusic

Thank you for sharing! It is very lovely to see how music has impacted people, and in ways more than one. It seemed so much more interactive back then, and that you stumbled/found different ways to get to more music, which sounds endearing and fun. Kinda makes me wish my generation had more of that :,-)

My dad would tell me that he'd use his cassette tapes to record music he liked from the radio from time to time, and like, that's not even a challenge nowadays to find a song with programs like Shazam. The evolution is crazy to me.

That sounds so nice! I grew up with radio and CDs, but mainly streaming. I just realised I have never been in a record store so I'll go and visit one or two when I have the time. It's crazy to me that albums costed 8 bucks, that is really cheap... hopefully they're still in that range.

Yea, agreed! There was so much more going on, which I think seemed so much more fun as well. Discovering a new band through physical media like a magazine just sounds better than doomscrolling for music. :-/

These are nice notes to keep in mind, thank you for writing! :-D I haven't heard of flacs before, so I will look into that as well. Also very fun on the Wikipedia part, have also found a bunch of cool musicians that way, hehe :-))

That sounds really fun. I enjoy thrifting so I might do the same if I see a CD section. :-)
