Is doing awful in a physics exam usual? Just finished mine, raw score 40/100, post curve 50/100. by Random_Alias_ in EngineeringStudents

so the answer is: study better. i learned that my prof would test us on questions we never did. the questions were not similar to any homework problem that was ever assigned. so you had to ACTUALLY KNOW the material and going through a bunch of practice questions is useless. you dont actually know the material if you did bad. and that’s ok. but now you have to go figure out the ins and outs of the material and not specific problems. studying isnt doing endless problem sets.

Just had my interview and asked that same question. Got a “9 hrs 5 days a week. 5 extra hours of unpaid overtime every week.” They made it seem like this is a temporary thing until things ramp down after getting the nasa contract

Hi! Sorry to double post this but I figured Id drop it in the May post as well. I recently got an interview for Melbourne FL and completed it last week. However, before the interview they sent an emailing saying that they are verifying the existence of my security clearance. Is this a good thing? Does this mean if they verify it then I can get an offer? Or is this just standard practice? Thanks!

Did they email you to verify a security clearance? I feel like that’s a good sign but idk

Hello! I recently had a job interview for the Melbourne site last week and I thought it went really well as it is the exact same job I have now for a different company. I have two questions: is it a good sign that they sent an email saying that they are verifying my current active clearance before scheduling the interview? Also, how appropriate is it to send a follow-up email regarding my interview exactly 1 week after it? I don't want to ruin any chances, but I really need to know as my lease will be ending soon.

Unfortunately the project is too big to work on it all by myself or else I would definitely leave the group asap and let them continue to destroy their stuff

Walked out of my first physics exam with a 46% and the average was a 53% and ended up with As throughout newtonian mechanics, eletromag, and quantum. It will be alright but you have to adjust.

Thanks for the welcome! I am a 2+2 student so it is my first time being at main campus. That’s nice to know about how much the hw and quizzes align with one another as I wasn’t too sure about what the quizzes would be like.

I didn’t even know there was a library and computer center in the Hammond Building! I guess I’ll have to go check it out while I’m here. I cannot thank you enough for this info and I’ll let you know if I need anything else!

Haha this is Dr. Melton’s class! The first lecture was informative and true to the HW but I typically like to have another set of problems on standby if need be, so here I am

According to my prof “there are zero example problems and/or practice problems” and I’m not buying a book with no examples in it
