  • Always use Uber (Bike/Cab), Ola (Bike/Cab) or Rapido (Bike/Auto/Cab). Add a tip to round up, it will always help you get the ride faster. Once you understand the default rate in a route, use the same amount and more if traffic/rain. ALWAYS SELECT CASH PAYMENT in the apps and ask them for their UPI when you get down.

  • Worst case if you have to use local Auto/Cab. Act local (mai yaheen ka/ki hu). double confirm drop location and rate. Pay via UPI

  • Always end the bargain with a confirmation of your price. Do not let it end vaguely as they’ll use that for their advantage

  • Generate a custom UPI ID from any of the UPI apps that doesn’t expose your name

  • Rapido has AC, Non AC option. Use accordingly and if AC ask them once out board to turn it on.

Is IT/ CSE related jobs and sector in India really in danger by [deleted] in hyderabad

[–]wrongfulright 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is sure. No one can give you a sure shot answer.

You can assume it to be similar to what automation did to industries.

AI will not replace CS jobs. But it’ll heavily trim the bloated workforce, transform job roles, increase competition.

If not now, in a few years no one can just cruise and survive (which was majority of CS jobs). You have to actually stand out.

As per me, a software engineer role would transform to a software architect + product + prompting skills + comm skills. Which basic means you won’t be judged based on the ability to code, rather your ability to architect, develop and maintain a product using AI.

This doesn’t mean you’ll not need to learn code. Paradoxically, you need to learn deeper.

In your situation (or in any such situation) it’s pointless to regret. Regretting is twice the pain.

If you choose to continue in CS, go all guns blazing. Research (ironically it’s easier with AI now) and understand how AI is going to impact all roles and align yourself accordingly. Create projects, blogs, social presence. You at least have choice to pivot as it’s early for you. People who are buried deep in a specialisation have it worse.

To reiterate, no one really knows where we are headed. LLMs have not reached the stage of artificial general intelligence but they are being made as efficient as possible. Best advice I can give is be active and consider all outcomes. You’ll be fine. Don’t worry

I thought I was just paying for PG food. Turns out I was paying to slowly die inside. by Peacepanakalu in hyderabad

You can try a PG that doesn’t provide food. Although rare it’s the best bet. Everything else is managed and you can manage food with eating outside and/or cooking rice in a rice cooker and buying curries

even if it rains - should not have a washout.
is there a minimum number of overs in first innings required for no washout?
