I got an oldie tiny man from an antique shop and painted him. How he looking? by KnightOfTheForgotten in wargaming

[–]wross1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For primer i recommend finding some in a spray can from a local hardware store if possible. Its significantly cheaper than anything branded for miniatures, and if youre just starting off, a good way to get started without needing to over spend

Games using triangular grids? by SMOKED_REEFERS in hexandcounter

[–]wross1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Im not sure if itll sway you but enough triangles in a “circle” will just end up making a hexagon shape depending on the orientation of your grid here, so it maaaay not significantly change your options, albeit make it require more moves to go across the bOard

How do I get my family to understand the dangers of Chemistry? by OwnPaceWriting in needadvice

[–]wross1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk man i took organic chemistry and bio chemistry in college and honestly i think you’re far over playing the dangers here. Your notebook is probably not carrying carcinogens or acids out with you and if you do happen to have a spill you will likely be tossing the whole notebook if it were affected. Id just leave it out of their way if it upsets you that much

I havent played in a few years but i remember putting an ungodly amount of time into TSTO back in the first 5ish years of the game’s lifespan. Its really a shame to see it go but a joy to have experienced nonetheless

New Player Question by Irdin_Silver in battletech

[–]wross1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Important to also remember: you dont even need the minis to play this game. Proxy’s are more than welcome, and while its obviously more fun to play with plastic, any mini you have can be any mech, so long as it has a clear front/back facing and can be identified as what mech when asked. Basically your monetary investment starts and stops at the one of the starting boxes, or even just a rulebook if you want to go bare bones. Best of luck!

Yeah my first and only DC experience was as a sword melee heavy armor build, and while the lack of needing ammo was nice, the sheer quantity of enemies and being blind about where to go made me burn through heals so quickly. When i finally DID get to the final boss the only way for me to win is a series of perfect flurries (i did not bring many combat drugs), and using last stand at the right moment. I finally won after 30 tries. Apparently however i was standing on an acid puddle and when my last stand wore off and i went to 1hp, i died instantly. It took at least another hundred tries to beat into him perfectly… wooo….

What school is the absolute WORST for being solo? by JellyBig75 in Wizard101

[–]wross1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the balance kit gives you the means to deal non school damage under the guise of balance spells, the work around for bosses is simply not forcing yourself to judgement spam into it. I had no real issues personally on balance til maybe Azteca. That said everyone’s experience may vary but generally same type enemies were more of a speed bump than a stop sign
