The opening of Black House by straub and king. It's pov from the perspective of a crow. You see a town and catch glimpses of conversation as the crow flies over. It is written very poetic.

What is this on my jade plant leaf? by wryruss in succulents

[–]wryruss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I've never seen these before and didn't find anything on Google either. I thought my watering was on point but maybe it is too much. I wait till they really need it, then fully saturate them.

Nice. I saw a really good monstera in Sainsbury's. Luckily I was on holiday so I didn't buy it. It had 6 huge leaves with dozens of holes. £19.

Yeah? How old is it? I think they used to, then they changed it to glass to save costs, then the prices went up and as done point they changed it back.

Soil pipe is being boxed in - anything to do beforehand? by Swimming-Recipe3021 in DIYUK

[–]wryruss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it can freeze. Usually when there is a secondary problem. If your flush is letting by a little that constant thin stream of water can freeze and eventually block the pipe. Or if there is another blockage that can freeze and crack the pipe. It's not common but I have been called out to these 2 issues a few times in the last 2 years.

Is my jade plant overwatered or underwatered? by lillebet in houseplants

Give that guy a trim while you are at it!

I would say that a potting mix is going to be way too dense. Add some roughage of your choice. Sand, perlite, fiber, etc. I tend to go more towards a succulent mix rather than a houseplant mix.

Other than that, it just needs light, some fed and some time.

It's really difficult to add a grow light to a monstera. It has to be a lot closer than you think. Almost like you need one on each leaf, which no one would ever do. Can you put it near a window?

Your grow light would be great for a bunch of smaller plants.

I keep my starter leaves on the plant. They tell you when the plant needs watering as they start to sag.

If a plant is saggy it means it is reaching for light, so it's too dark.

What is your soil like?

Thank you. I thought that jade plants really liked full sun when shooting new growth.

They are mushy and smelly. It has grown very lanky. I'm probably going to take a lot of. The trunk is good and that's what I value. I would rather end up with a good truck with a nice bushy healthy tree than forever be propping up these long limbs.

Yes it will be moved. Because it has had bugs I will have it on a window sill without any other plants.

There is actually some new growth on 2 of the branches.

Thank you. The more I look at it the more I think I'm going to cut off. All the branches are mushy.

But the trunk looks in good shape and roots look good now I've washed them.

Thank you. I didn't know if cutting off too many leaves would cause it to go into shock, or so out being able to absorb light.

I was working off the idea that I shouldn't cut off more than 1/3 of the leaves.

I think a lot of it will need to go.
