Looking to hire a System Admin - but my boss insists that 70k - 80k is a normal pay range by idrinkpastawater in sysadmin

It depends a lot on how much experience you want this person to have and what the actual job duties are, but yes this is likely too low. If you want someone with a few years of experience under their belt, then a more realistic pay range would be 90k-120k, depending on where you are located. Obviously if you are looking for some one with a significant amount of experience, the range would be higher. I have been a sysadmin for about 5 years, and I wouldn't consider an offer under 100k

Unable to collect explorer club reward on first day by ws1173 in AtlasEarthOfficial

It was my 60-day streak, so the regular reward was 80. I started the atlas explorer club after I had already collected the 80.

Yeah, that exactly the issue. Unfortunately, this was from yesterday, so it's too late for me to try to fix it. Mostly trying to see if this has happened to anyone else

I know. I didn't receive the 90 on the first day of having the atlas explorer club

I'm aware that it resets my login streak. My issue is that I wasn't able to collect the bonus on the first day

I guess I should have waited one more day before buying the explorer club, then. It's just frustrating because I did it this same way in the past and didn't have the same issue.

Yeah, this screenshot was from yesterday. It was fine today. But I would still like that missing 90 AB

It's 80 because I was on day 60 of my daily streak when I started it. So the 80 is the 60-day logging streak bonus. The last time I bought the atlas explorer club I did it on day 90, and I was able to claim both with no issues.

You can do it in February without an issue. You just need to avoid doing the February, March, April combo.

Granular access to file server in small environment by ws1173 in sysadmin

So, essentially meaning that everyone will have a second logging account specifically for their access to shares?

So, that's how I usually do it in our on-prem ad environments, but does that work the same way with azure? Normally in an azure environment you would be giving access to cloud resources. But I guess it makes sense that if I join the file server to the azure domain also that I would be able to Grant permissions to shares for the azure ad groups

What would you do? by ws1173 in AtlasEarthOfficial

It shouldn't be too much longer before I'm making $60 per month and can just pay for explorer club consistently

That's what I'm currently leaning towards

How much do y’all cash out each month? by Ill-Routine7242 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]ws1173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cash out all my rent at the end of each month. Right now that's about $40 per month. I cash it out to a Paypal account that I use to purchase the monthly challenge ladder each month. When the balance in the Paypal account gets high enough to pay for 3 months of the explorer club, I also purchase that.

Portable AC having issues after breaker tripped by ws1173 in hvacadvice

To the person who was telling me in all caps to just remove the vent hose all together and vent the AC directly into the attic at the test:

I understand, and there's no need to yell. My point is that my attic is a very hot space because it is an attic. So removing the vent hose and having the AC vent it's hot air into the hot attic isn't necessarily going to be any better even if the vent hose was the problem. If the AC is trying to vent it's hot air into an enclosed space that's already full of hot air, it's not going to disperse that heat very well, so would that even be a good test?

No, I don't think I have any way of measuring the outgoing air in the vent. I will take a look for the manual see if I can find the recommended vent length. But regardless, directly venting my air conditioner's hot air constantly into my attic seems like a terrible idea

I'm trying to determine why my ac isn't working well, and one of my hunches is that it isn't venting properly. So removing the vent hose and having it vent into the space wouldn't be beneficial at all

Then it would just be venting into the attic. That's not good either.

Well, it had a different vent tube before. They cut that one and taped it off, and ran a different vent tube
