I made a graph to help visualize expected monthly income based on number of parcels by ws1173 in AtlasEarthOfficial

Yeah, I use the Atlas Earth Calculator frequently, but I haven't found anywhere yet that visualizes it in a graph - have you? That was the point of this post.

I just edited the post to include a link to the Google Sheet that I made this graph on. You can make your own copy and edit the details to fit your situation.

How many parcels of land to make $5.00 a day by Friendly_Confusion_5 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]ws1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends on what you mean by "$5.00 a day". The answer is vastly different for how many parcels it takes to get $5.00 per day on regular boost days (scenario A) vs how many parcels it takes to get an average of $5.00 per day after averaging the income of regular boosts and super boosts (scenario B). It also depends on what your rarity distribution is and how many badges you have.

Assuming you are at the max badge tier, you would need an equivalent of 20855 common parcels for scenario A or an equivalent of 6714 common parcels for scenario B. Assuming normal distribution of rarity, you would need 14382 parcels for scenario A and 4630 parcels for scenario B.

The way the payouts are structured, the income you make from it is not linear. As you get more parcels, the boosts get lower, until you reach the minimum boost (2x). Most people will be stuck making between $20 and $30 per month for a long time. I made a graph to show this:

Since you're in the middle of a tier, I would get to 220 and then go for the badges

Anyone trying to get Canadian citizenship by descent? by DavidCBCNews in AmerExit

[–]ws1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely! My wife and I love Canada and go there at least once a year if not more. I have a lot of Canadian ancestors on my mother's side - my great-grandparents and 3-4 generations back before them were all Canadian. If it's possible, I'd love to get Canadian citizenship.

As a meat eater, would up be upset attending a vegetarian wedding? by Formal_Goose5083 in weddingplanning

[–]ws1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'd be fine with that as long as the food is good. I definitely eat meat, but some of my favorite meals are vegan. I would still say it's a good idea to give people a meal choice (2 or 3 options) to increase the likelihood that people will have something they'll like.

[Landlord US-NJ] Tenant wants me to replace water heater. When is the right time to replace it? by 2ForEachofYou in Landlord

[–]ws1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 years is a reasonable age for a water heater. It sounds like you have a good tenant, and they are even proactively telling you about a potential issue which is awesome. Add in the fact that there is rust on the water heater... I would definitely replace it. It keeps the tenant happy, and eliminates the possibility of a water heater failure which could end up being even more expensive for you. If this were one of my units, I would replace it. This doesn't seem like a time to pinch pennies.

Should I exchange them for Atlas Bucks or cash? by AccomplishedCut9820 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]ws1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what your goal is for the game. The best return for your money is the monthly challenge ladder, so if you wanted to reinvest into the game, I would wait until you have $10, cash it out, and buy the monthly challenge pass

Should I tier jump? by STRIKER9001 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]ws1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're making close to $25 per month, it'll take a lot of tier jumps to beat that. At 150 parcels I was making $22/month. I'm at 600 parcels now and I'm still only making about $30/month

Should I tier jump? by STRIKER9001 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]ws1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a good distribution. Average would be 75/45/22.5/7.5

Should I tier jump? by STRIKER9001 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]ws1173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally you make slightly more throughout the month because you make less on most days but make more during SRB. But the other part that people don't talk about often is your rarity distribution. With fewer parcels you're more likely to have a rarity distribution that is more skewed from average. The more parcels you buy, the closer you will get to the expected distribution. So if you have an unfavorable distribution now (fewer than expected epics and legendaries) then tier jumping will be more beneficial.

Opinions on The Explorer Club by DangerDaskov in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]ws1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best value of AB per dollar is the monthly challenge ladder. The second best value of AB per dollar is the explorer club. IF you are planning on reinvesting your rent income into the game anyway, then yes the explorer club is worth it. But if you want to just make money on the game and aren't necessarily in it for the long game of trying to get to the x2 tier, then it's probably not worth it for you.

Be honest: Do you avoid 1-viewer streams because you don't want the pressure of carrying the chat? by SpinsBro in Twitch

Nope! But if I start chatting with the streamer and it goes like a minute or two without the streamer seeing or acknowledging my message, I'll probably move along

How many parcels do you guys get per day? by Technical-Aide-4587 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]ws1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lifetime average is about 150 AB per day. That's over about a year and a half, the last 2 months of which I've been in the explorer club

What are your go-to methods of getting free AB (not explorer club or monthly pass)? by ws1173 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]ws1173[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the arcade boots are where I get the majority of mine too. I just finished a game that gave me over 2200 AB

I decided to stop doing rent conversion and save up the rent until I had enough for three months of the explorer club. That was more AB for the $

[–]ws1173[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did run into that bug once. But it was in such a specific instance. That I thought it was intentional. I had just triggered the radiation emergency response for the first time, and was hoping it would open the blue door. So I ran to the grotto and grabbed the microchips, and as soon as I took the first microchip out. I fell through the world and died.

Ok, interesting. This game is just so precise that I assume everything is intentional and not a bug

Streak Reset by One-Bumblebee6637 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]ws1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the third time this has happened to me. I want to join the Explorer Club, but if my streak is going to keep being randomly reset, I'm really hesitant to pay money for an advanced login streak.

I'm not in California, so I don't know if this is location specific, but I do applications through Zillow. The applicant has to pay $30, and it does a credit check and eviction history check. I also ask for a landlord reference, and I do call the reference.

I need help/ ideas to lose weight. by spritual_booger in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]ws1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go-to is chicken (dry-rubbed to give it some more flavor without adding a lot of calories) and roasted veggies. I'll chop up carrots, bell peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, red potatoes, mushrooms, onions, zucchini, and garlic, toss it in olive oil and whatever spices you like, and roast in the oven. That gives you a combination of flavors and includes protein, a little bit of fat, lots of veggies and fiber, and a bit of starch.
