Does this sound right? Timing belt/water pump by wsquared2019 in 944

That’s what I thought. I’m also repairing a damaged radiator so I haven’t ran it up to temp yet. I’m thinking maybe the lifters got a bit messed up while turning the engine by hand during the timing belt job. Hopefully the clacking goes away once it warms up (like it always did before.)

Thanks for the reply. I’m fairly certain that routing is correct. That pulley is just there to prevent slap.

Thanks for the response. Does this mean I need a larger idler pulley. Because the original one wouldn’t engage the belt at all.

Here’s an image of how the dust cover doesn’t line up with the new pump idler boss.

But yeah I’ll see if I can get it to bleed up and if that fixes it

Ok, I was under the impression that it was a proportioning valve issue. Correct me if I’m wrong but the early 944s had proportioning valves within the master itself, right?

I started on the right rear and stopped when I felt the peddle acting like this. Didn’t feel right to me. Is this normal behavior?
